Ryder's POV
Nervously, my hands fiddled with Harry's as we both sat right next to each other while waiting for my dad in the lobby of the work building. After our trip back home from visiting Harry's sister, I decided to not waste any more time in talking to my dad and ask the so many unanswered questions that I have roaming around in the back of my head.
"Don't be so anxious love. It's your father after all, not some stranger." Harry mutters, his thumbs running across my knuckles as he held each of my hands in his.
"I know." I nod. "But can you blame me? I mean we are going to talk about my mother and how things got to how they are right now."
I bite my lips, briefly looking down to the side. "I mean I have always thought that things are the way they are because of me, that my mom left because she did not want to deal with me."
"Hey," Harry frowns, inclining his head down to look at me in the eyes. "Nothing that has happened is your fault, you have done nothing wrong."
"That's right." My father's voice says from the side.
I turn to look over my shoulder and see him standing right by my side. Releasing Harry's hands I stand and so does he a second after. My dad was dressed in black dress pants, his suit jacket folded on his arm leaving him in his white button up shirt with the sleeves still buttoned up by his silver cuff links.
"Uh, hi dad." I mutter, running my hands down the sides of my jeans before clasping them together in front of me.
"Hi." He replies giving me a sweet smile before his eyes flicker over to Harry who was adjusting his grey beanie over his head.
"Hi, sir." Harry mutters.

"So are you ready to go?" My dad asks after giving Harry a nod.
"Yes." I answer.
"Okay, well you two head on out and I'll see you later." Harry interjects placing his hand on my shoulder, looking down at me then up at my father.
"I'm going to go check something in my office first before I head to the gym." He adds pressing a kiss on my cheek and before he could take a step my dad stops him.
"No you are not." My dad calmly disapproves.
"Why not?" Harry frowns.
"Because I know why you want to go and the answer is no." My dad counters, pressing his lips into a line. I watch as Harry's frown turns into a scowl.
"I'm sorry but you are not my father." Harry replies and my lips part feeling very awkward and confused as the tension builds between them.
