A/n: READ THIS- only Bluestar/paw and snowfur/paw are genderbent. y/a/n- your apprentice name

You crouched with your tail irritably still. You gathered weight in your haunches and sprung forward on light paws, catching the rabbit by surprise and killing it swiftly. You felt pride bubble in your chest as you dropped it and admired its size.

For only stalking it you did a pretty good job. You took it in your mouth and haul the fat prey back to camp. You were having a hard time with it and you were happy when you dropped it on the fresh kill pile, letting your jaw relax after the heavy rabbit.

"Wow y/a/n! How did you catch a rabbit that big!" said a impressed Snowpaw, Bluepaw looking just as much.

"Well it wasn't easy." you answered feeling shy about the sudden praise.

You saw Featherwhisker out of the corner of your eye and quickly bounded over to him.

"Hey Featherwhisker! Did you see the rabbit I caught?!" you called as you skidded to a hault next to him.

"I did. Its very big and the clan will be glad to have it." he purred

You grinned then bounded away as Moonflower was approaching.

"Hi Moonflower!" you purred as you sat with a twitching tail in front of her.

"Hello y/a/n" she greeted with a friendly lick between your ears, Bluepaw and Snowpaw came bounding over and started to tell her about how you caught a big rabbit.

"It's huge!" Snowpaw said in exasperation, rearing up on his hind legs and spreading his front paws to show what he meant.

Bluepaw was to busy tackling you in a mock fight to join in with his litter mate. You batted at each other with sheathed claws and rolled and tussled on the ground, accidentally knocking Snowpaw off his paws.

Moonflower purred in amusement as Snowpaw whined and joined in.

"Now now, you three should be resting for tomorrow." she said, gently pulling the three of you apart.

This was true. Tomorrow they were going to battle with Windclan. The sun was already setting and cats were eating or going into their nests.

You all crawled into the apprentices den and curled in your nests. Moonflower also came and rested between Bluepaw and Snowpaw, wrapping her tail gently around you as well.

Snowpaw complained how his nest was rough or something like that and Moonflower said they would go get moss after the battle.

You woke up early, Snowpaw and Bluepaw were already up and grooming their fur. Moonflower was already out. It was windy when you slid out of the den and you shook yourself out before letting Bluepaw groom your fur as he stood by you.

"Race you to the fresh kill pile!" he said before racing away you growled and sped up to him.

"No fair! You gotta head start!" you growled

You both tied and he grabbed a large vole for you to share. Snowpaw was right behind you and grabbed a mouse. Once you all finished Pinestar was talking about something and Moonflower gave you all swift licks on the head and brushed her fur with the three of you.

You gently nuzzled her fur, enjoying the sweet scent and her gentle voice as she told you all to be careful even though you wouldn't be fighting.

You felt nervousness prick at your stomach as you began to set out. Moonflower slipped ahead and you trailed behind with Bluepaw and Snowpaw.

You made it to Windclan and the battle begun, screeches rising into the air. You were pretty bummed out you had to be with the healing patrolishtypething. But were glad you could be with your most cherished friends.

You leaned against Featherwhisker, Snowpaw and Bluepaw sat close to you. You listened to the screeches and Featherwhisker as he told himself the herbs for healing.

"Leopardpaw is hurt!" someone yowled and Swiftbreeze (I think) told you and Bluepaw to come and help get her to which you both obeyed quickly, charging down the hill and into the clearing, racing to Leopardpaw.

She was bleeding from a cut on her side and without hesitation she was grabbed and started to be dragged out. You heard Bluepaw arguing with a large brown tabby.

"Bluepaw!" you yowled at him and bounded over, grabbing his scruff and pulling him away before he did something stupid.

You made it back up the hill and Leopardpaw was cleaned up and given herbs.

You looked down into the clearing, standing next to Bluepaw. One minute it was loud and you saw Moonflower fighting the next it became eerily silent and Moonflower laid on the ground unmoving and Bluepaw fighting to get down there.

That was the day Moonflower left your life forever.

It had been a few moons since Moonflower had joined Starclan and you felt the heartache of loosing another mother even though she wasn't really your mother.

Time moved on and things happened eventually you recovered from her death around the same time Snowpaw did.

You would still talk with Bluepaw and try to get him to feel better but your efforts seemed in vein. Leafbare had come and Bluepaw along with his brother and a few others had left on a hunting patrol.

You sat in the medicine den as Featherwhisker sorted his herbs. He kept looking back at you every so often. You barely noticed though.

You were worried for Bluepaw, he didn't seem to be getting over his mothers death and also seemed to be pushing everyone away, even you, no matter how hard you tried to stay.

"What's the matter Y/a/n? Your usually talking nonstop" Featherwhisker asked, sitting in front of you.

You looked up at him, "nothing really, I'm just worried about.." You trailed off sadness flooding your heart, it hurt that Bluepaw ignored you and you were beginning to wonder if it was your fault.

"About Bluepaw, right?" He asked with a grin

You looked away as your ears warmed.

"I-Its nothing big," you stuttered, tone then getting sad, "I'm just afraid he's pushing me away for something I've done, but I don't know what I did wrong!"

"You've done nothing wrong, Bluepaw just still needs time to recover from his mothers death." He soothed, touching his tail to your shoulder comfortingly.

You felt alot better and Featherwhisker walked to the entrance of the medicine clearing.

"I'm going to try and find some herbs, don't wait for me." He called as he left.

You watched him go before you stood and got ready to leave and find your mentor.

"You know," a voice spoke up, "You might be the closest thing he has for his own kit, since he never got the chance to have any."

You looked around and saw Goosefeather. You flicked your ear.

"Well then the feelings mutual, he might as well be my father seeing as he practically raised me." You said softly, thinking to yourself

Goosefeather shrugged, "However you see it then"

You exited and shook your head. Goosefeather really was a strange cat.
