The next morning you woke up after Snowpaw and Bluepaw. You exited the den and saw the two sitting together talking about something.

You walked up to them and mewed a cheerful "Morning!"

"Oh hey y/a/p." Snowpaw said provocatively with a sly smile.

You gave him a confused look with your e/c orbs as his blue ones flicked to his brother, the same provocative look on his face.

"Am.. am I missing something here?" You asked in confusion.

Snowpaw laughed loudly and Bluepaw visibly tensed.

"Oh, nothing important, just a bit of teasing." Snowpaw said after he finished laughing.

"Oookay then, I'm just gonna go eat." You said before walking to the fresh-kill pile, missing what Snowpaw said to Bluepaw as you went.

You picked a small mouse and ate it, it wasn't very filling but for leafbare it was better than nothing.

You stood when you finished, shaking your fur out and licking your dry nose.

Something ran down your spine, tickling you, you squealed and jumped forward, whirling around as loud laughter broke out.

"Snowpaw, you stupid furball, don't do that!" You yelled angrily

His only reply was louder laughter.

"So that's what you were talking with Bluepaw about? Messing with me? How mouse-brained" you scoffed, flicking your tail behind you indignantly.

"Y/a/n!" Thrushpelt calls

(He's your mentor for simplicity reasons)

You look towards his voice and he flicks his tail in signal that it was time to go.

"You better be prepared because when I come back I'm gonna give your ears a good clawing!" You ululate as you bound off to join your mentor.

.

.

"Oof!" Your muzzle was hurried in a pile of snow, you had missed a mouse and couldn't catch yourself before it happened.

"Bad luck!" Thrushpelt called

You seethe with how badly you preformed. You jolted up, "I almost had it! It's not fair!"

He stalked up next to you as you ranted, his tail brushing a bit of snow off the top of your head.

"It's ok, everyone has a bit of rotten luck every so often." He stated calmly

"Yea but not as much as I do. Maybe I wasn't meant to be a clan cat..." You trailed off sadly.

You had always questioned it, since you weren't clan-born you felt like the others judged you and your skills weren't nearly as good as theirs.

"Nonsense! You were raised by the clan, we wouldn't have left a kit to fed for itself, it's cruel; anyways you might as well have been born to the clan, it was your destiny to join the clan, Starclan made sure of it."

He had a point, you practically were a born clan cat. Maybe it was destiny that led Featherwhisker to find you all those moons ago.

"Come on, let's finish our hunt." He offered, leading the way through the snow.

You followed, still doubtful of your position in the clan.

.

.

When you got bad you had only caught a vole after the mouse mishap. You dropped it on the pile and trudged to the apprentices den for some rest.

You squeezed in the entrance and began to walk to your nest.

"Hey y/n! What happened, I thought you were gonna 'give my ears a good clawing' as you put it" Snowpaw said jokingly.

You ignored him and just sank into your nest with a heavy sigh as you closed your eyes.

Snowpaw and Bluepaw exchanged concerned glances, "are you ok y/a/n?" Bluepaw asked

"Fine" you muttered bluntly.

No further questions were asked but you faintly heard the two brothers talking amongst themselves.

You ignored them, falling asleep instead.
