Leo
It had been three days since Leo had arrived on Calypso's island for the second time.
Boy, was he falling hard for this girl. The way she built things made his heart dance. She wasn't afraid to get her hands into the dirt.
It was their fourth day and they were sitting on the beach, eating dinner, as they had for the past nights.
"New York City," Leo was saying. "It's huge and beautiful, but kind of dirty. The architecture is pretty cool."
"What about places with little amounts of architecture?"
That stumped Leo. "I don't really know. I mean, buildings are everywhere, that's just how it is in America."
Calypso frowned. "That is sad."
Leo shrugged. "Maybe you'll like it."
"What if I do not?"
He shrugged again. "Then I guess we'll have to open Leo and Calypso's Auto-Repair shop on a hidden island."
Calypso raised an eyebrow. "You think that we are actually going to open up a shop?"
"Of course. That's part of the promise."
Calypso gave a small smile and looked out at the water. "Promise," she repeated.
All of a sudden, she gasped. Leo followed her eyes to the sea and spotted a boat, floating its way to the island.
Calypso's heart had decided. It couldn't have been a coincidence that when Leo mentioned starting the shop with her, she'd made up her mind. Maybe it was delayed. She had probably made her mind up the day before.
"Well would you look at that?" Leo mumbled.
Calypso stood up. "I have to pack. I have to clean. I have to..."
Leo gave her a smile. "You go on and pack your stuff. I'll bring the boat up then come up and help."
She gave him a grateful smile before hurrying up to her stuff.
Leo went down to the shoreline and pulled the boat up onto the sand. Once he was sure the boat wouldn't float away, he ran up to Calypso's cave to help her pack.
When he got there, Calypso was standing with her back to him.
"Hey," he said.
She jumped like he scared her. "I, um. I am just packing." She didn't look at him.
"Do you need help?"
"Uh, yes. Could you take this bag?" For the moment that Calypso faced Leo to hand him the bag, Leo saw her eyes were red. He immediately felt bad.
"Calypso, we don't have to go," he said, trying to meet her gaze.
"No," she said, "of course I want to go. I'm just...never mind."
"We could stay a little longer," Leo suggested.
"No. I want to get off of this island. I just need to say goodbye."
Leo hefted the bag in his arms. "Alright, I'll be down on the beach. Is there anything else you want me to carry?"
"No, thank you."
He nodded. "Alright. Take your time."
Leo went back down to the beach and put Calypso's stuff into the boat. He was excited to bring Calypso into the modern world. He couldn't wait for everyone else on the Argo II to meet her. Would they be mad that he didn't tell them that he had met Calypso? What would Percy say? Would Calypso fall for Percy? He was kind of a chick magnet.
A few minutes later, Calypso came racing down the beach. She got into the boat.
Leo laughed. "What's the rush?"
She grinned. "I accidentally made a fire."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Accidentally?"
"Yes, but I didn't put it out. So, we should leave."
Leo smirked and pushed her, and the boat, into the water. "I can't burn."
He hopped into the boat and the two of them were off.
------------------------
The two of them sat in the same exact café in the same exact city that Leo had gone to after he escaped from Calypso's island the first time.
"This is a mug." he told Calypso, holding up his hot chocolate. He got her a hot chocolate, too. She loved it.
"This mug tastes so good. How do you make it?"
Leo laughed. "No. The mug is the part that you don't eat. The stuff that you do drink is called hot chocolate."
"Hot chocolate," she repeated.
"Yep. It's pretty good. Especially in the winter."
"When the weather is cold?"
"Yeah. It sometimes snows in the winter, depending on where you are."
"Snow?"
Leo fluttered his hands around as he said, "Big white flakes of frozen water."
"Interesting..."
Leo couldn't help but smile at how fascinated she was with everything.
Just wait until she sees a car.
"Leo!" a voice yelled. The whole café turned to Piper, who was standing in the entrance way with wide eyes. She leaned out the door. "Guys! He's in here!"
In no time, the seven of his friends all rushed into the shop and attacked him. Calypso was confused, especially when Piper wrapped her arms around Leo and kissed the boy's cheek.
"Where have you been?" she demanded.
Leo rolled his eyes, making Calypso smile a little, but she quickly made it disappear.
"I was a little busy," he said.
That was when all of the demigods and Coach Hedge turned to Calypso. Leo looked to see if Calypso was looking at Percy and only Percy, but she wasn't. She was looking at Lo with wide eyes.
"Guys, this is Calypso."
Everyone gave her smiles and hello's.
"Hello," she greeted quietly.
They all talked quickly about what happened, how they got off of the island, blah, blah, blah.
Once they were done in the café, Calypso surprised Leo by grabbing onto his arm and pulling him close.
"Are you okay?" he asked as they walked behind everyone.
"There are so many people here."
He laughed. "Don't worry, you'll get used to it."
To Leo's disappointment, Calypso let go of his arm and walked next to him in silence until they got to the ship.
The look on Calypso's face as the Argo II started to lift into the sky, was priceless.
