ADRIEN'S POV
Mother love is the best kind of love that you can receive- besides love from your literal soulmate, I mean. Mother love is the live that a child gets from the person who gave birth to them or if they are adopted, mother love is the love that you get from the woman who has finally given you the family that you've always wanted.

My mother was like me in a lot of ways. Appearance was the most obvious. She had fair skin, green eyes, and blonde hair that she had neatly tied in a side ponytail. Personality wise though, we were even more alike. She was kindhearted, a loving person, a bit stubborn, independent when it came to the safety of others, and she could be a bit over the top but that was just her personality.

I had thought that I'd never see her again after her mysterious disappearance a couple of weeks before I started attending public school. But, she was back and she was ready to make up for all of our lost time.

As soon as I opened the door, I caught sight of the person who may have abandoned me and took my brother with her but I also saw the woman who had made my childhood a happy one for the most part- just by being there while she could be.

"Mother...- I...- It's so good to see you!" I happily pulled my mother into a hug, feeling safe in her arms the way that I had in my childhood back when my mother and father were still happy and my father was actually sane.

She pulled away from our embrace and she cupped my cheek, examining my features and said, "You've grown up so much even if I wasn't there to guide you through it. I'm so sorry that I left without telling you and without you at all. I truly regret it, Adrien."

I smiled at her, "It's okay, Mother, really. You're here now and that's all that matters to me."

Her sad smile turned into a purely happy one and she said, "Since I've been gone for so long I think it's only fair that we catch up. So, tell me, is there someone special to you in your life?"

I nodded happily, being reminded of the love of my young life; y/n. She meant everything to me and I wanted my mother to know everything that there was to know about her. "Yeah, I hope this doesn't upset you but... I'm married. Keep in mind though, that she's perfect in every possible way. I know that we're both a bit young but I can promise you that she's the one for me."

She grabbed my hand, squeezing it to reassure me that she had no problem with it, saying, "Adrien, I am in no place to tell you the right age to you when you should be getting married. You love her and she loves you and that's the important thing to think about. And besides, who am I to talk? I mean, gave birth to you when I was 15."

"Thank you, Mother. I've really missed you," I said, sighing in content.

"So, where have you been all this time?" I asked, remembering a time when my mind had been racing with thoughts, wondering where the hell my mother had disappeared to with Félix.

"Well," She started, glancing down at her wedding ring then back at me.

"You and Félix both know how much my relationship with your father had broken. Your father didn't even treat me like I was his wife, he treated me as his business associate. Every single day, we were at each other's throats and I couldn't take it anymore. I wasn't happy and it was obvious that you and Félix weren't either. So, I was going to pack all three of us a bag but then your father saw us. I knew that if we wanted to leave, the only way to do that was to book it and take Félix and ran." She said, her voice sounding regretful, upset.

Her eyes started to water as she said, "Adrien, I never meant for it to happen the way I did. I wanted the three of us to be a family without your father but... I couldn't make that happen. I'm really sorry to leave you like that."
