YOUR POV
Bang. The shot was fired. Pain is what she desired. Victoria had succeeded in something, she brought me excessive pain but she had not killed me. I had dodged the bullet with enough skill that she shot my hand rather than my face but still, the pain was mightier than it would have been if she shot me where she planned to. My hand was the key to all of my demon magic, without it, I would be dead.

I had to escape. Immediately. I did possibly the dumbest thing that I could do in the heat of the moment. I jumped off the Eiffel Tower.

"Maybe I should've thought this through." I wonder aloud as I was falling off the Eiffel Tower.

Suddenly I face planted on the concrete ground. I groaned, too tired to even deal with all of the pain that I was feeling. I slowly shut my eyes, all of my pain, dissolving as I saw only black.

When I woke up, I was not outside where I had remembered that I previously was. I was in my bed and I was wearing gloves that hid my injury.

Had it all been a dream?

"Oh, y/n, I'm so glad you're okay." Adrien gave me a bone-crushing hug.

"What- What happened?" I asked, reaching for the glove on my hand, to pull it off but Adrien stopped me by grabbing my hands gently and balling them into fists and kissing them.

He smiled, "From what I remember, this is how it happened. One minute, you're next to me sleeping like a baby and the next, you're gone,"

"You left your phone here so I may or may not have checked your messages," He said, showing me the messages on my phone that I had with Layla, only it wasn't Layla, it was Victoria.

"I was on my way to the Eiffel Tower but then I heard a gunshot, I started running but then I saw you jump, I didn't catch you in time and I'm sorry," Adrien apologized, cupping my cheek, caressing it gently with his thumb.

"No, it's okay. But you got there quick didn't you?" I said since the gunshot happened fairly quick when I met up with Victoria.

He nodded, "Anyway, by the time I got there, you were on the floor and unconscious. I took you home and healed some of your wounds. I also poured liquid metal into your hand. Is that okay?"

I took my glove off to examine my hand, finding it to be as good as new. It was as if Victoria had never put the bullet inside my hand in the first place. But that reminded me of something.

I gasped, "Adrien, please tell me that you took the bullet out."

"There- There was a bullet?"

Oh, my god. I'm dead. Wait, how am I not dead yet?

I cupped Adrien's cheeks to make sure that Adrien was looking directly into my eyes.

"Adrien, listen to me. If something bad does happen to me, it is because of that. Do not go around and start blaming yourself because that's not going to help anyone."

Adrien sniffled, his eyes beginning to water, "Are you...- Are you going to be okay?"

"I'm not completely sure... but you have to promise me that if something does happen, that you won't put the blame on yourself because it is not your fault."

He nodded slowly and I pulled him into a hug. He started crying while I shed a few tears as well. I wasn't sure if taking the bullet out of my hand would have major consequences or if it wouldn't but one thing is for sure, if Adrien blamed himself, it would be tragic.
