When Adrien used to tell me about his mother, I had always imagined that she was very similar to him in many ways. That she was pure of heart, supportive, loving, protective, and all those personality traits that a mother generally should have. But for some reason, she had no problem knowing that her daughter-in-law and her son were not completely human.

I was a bit suspicious because I had expected her to jump the gun and think that I was the devil's daughter but she didn't. Like Adrien had been when I told him about it, she didn't care about what I might have done in the past and that all she cared about was the love that Adrien and I had for each other. Not that I was complaining but it was a bit strange.

I went along with it though because I would rather have my mother-in-law liking me instead of fearing me so much that she'd think that her son would die because of it. I would take what I could get.

"I know that I don't understand this and I might never but what I do understand is that if you really trusted me enough to tell me about this then I have nothing to worry about. I trust you the way that you trust me."

Once we had arrived at Laughter Location, Adrien had excitedly begun to show his mother around the place he works. In a place like Laughter Location though, there wasn't much going on.

There was an infinite amount of room for guests to sit, thanks to demon magic, there was a bar, and then, there was the stage. There was also the point system though. In Ashes there is no thing such money; just Positive and Negative Points.

While I was in Ashes after leaving Adrien's side, I had a lot of time to think about him. And when I thought of him, I thought about the sweet model boy and the reckless cat hero that I had fallen in love with. At that time, I had been given a list of things that I needed to take care of in the kingdom of Ashes. The first thing was, how was I going to take care of matters economically.

Since I had been thinking of Chat Noir, I had been unfortunately thinking of his horrible father who was Hawkmoth. Due to the fact that people become akumatized because they tend to focus on the negatives rather than the positives, I had come up with Positive and Negative Points.

Essentially, if you said something positive to someone, made someone smile/laugh, or just made them feel better then that would earn you a positive point. And, if you did the opposite then you would get a Negative Point.

In Laughter Location, the way that you would get paid is that as a comedian, you would want the audience to laugh so every time someone in the audience does so, the comedian or performer gets a positive point.

As soon as Adrien had finished showing his mother around and his performance was just about to begin, he stopped me as I was going to go sit with Emilie.

He grabbed my face, forcing me to look at his- not that I was complaining. When I looked into his green eyes that I had fallen in love with, I knew that he was absolutely ecstatic about the performance but he was also nervous. That was understandable because even though he had performed in front of others plenty of times before.

"I know that my mother can be pretty convincing but do not let her fool you. I'll be giving it my all so that I can prove to her that I didn't just get this job because we're married." Adrien had told me, feeling worried that his performance would affect his relationship with his mother negatively more than positively.
