Naomi had her hands in her hair, she is getting frustrated with the argument over whose boyfriend is better behind her. She walked into class and sat in her seat as she snapped, "they each had their own virtue, now shut up, and they are good in their own way." She buried her face in her hand as she took the seat next to Adrian. Adrian looked curiously at Naomi, "what's going on?' Naomi groaned, "they are debating whose boyfriend is better." Adrian laughed, the sound so nostalgic in Naomi's ears. The same laugh she heard years ago, the same high pitched laughter.

"Well then, I would say I'm the best," Adrian commented.

"Who is your girlfriend then? Last I checked, none." Naomi hissed. She doesn't need someone else to add into the argument. She is sick of it.

"Depends, girl friend or girlfriend. in my case I am talking about girl friend with a space in the middle. The friendzoned spacing."

"Who is your girl friend then."

"You"

"Who said I am your friend?"

"Facebook"

"I'm sorry are you delusional? Maybe you forgot, I changed all my social media accounts. I stopped using the account you are friends with. Which means you are my EX-boy friend."

"but considering we are spending time together, we are friends."

"Nope, we are merely classmates that have the same social circle so I have no choice but to spend time with you."

All eyes were on the two and their debate. This felt just like old time with Adrian. When Naomi would debate with every single guy and they are still friends but this is different. They are not friends in this case. Each minute with Adrian, brings her 1 minute back into the past. She stop her passage into the past when she made the winning statement. "Friends work both sided, you may see me as your friend but I don't see you as one so we are not friends. Boom. Now shush and don't cry about it."

Everybody's jaws dropped. They have no idea to consider it an argument or a friendly debate. Naomi took her book out and started reading. Using the book as a cover, the sides of her lips tilted upwards. Just like old times. She then mentally scolded herself, she cannot go back to how she was like in the past. But this did trigger a memory.

"Mi...help me please."

"No, do it yourself."

"Mommy, please, I love you."

"I'm not your mother"

"Sis, please help me."

"Let me go."

"No, mommy until you help me."

"What the shit is happening." Ad commented.

"Fine!" Naomi let out a sigh as she helped her 'son' with homework.

Her smile became more prominent. She was so absorbed in her own walk down memory lane. She did not take notice of her surrounding as the teacher walked into class. The clatter of chairs against the floor brought Naomi out of her daydream as she abruptly stood at attention.

She mentally scolded herself. Never would she ever daze off like that again. The class greeted the teacher and she went back to the book. She started reading where she left off when Adrian spoke up again with a hint of disappointment in his voice. " We are not friends?" Naomi bit her bottom lip, she wondered is she willing to take a risk of repeating history but thought against it. She firmly stated, "no, we are not friends. Just classmates, nothing more nothing less." She swear she sensed Adrian's change in attitude but she pushed it aside.
