If It Ain't Love

Chapter 10:

There was no sign of life in Naomi. It's like she had given up. He subconsciously entered the room. "Mi..." was what he said and that alerted the other two.

"Why did you follow us?! I made it clear I don't want to see you and I don't think Naomi wants to."

"What happened to her?" Adrian asked ignoring Carol. Silence stretched between them. How are they going to explain for Naomi's current state. But Carol found a loophole. "You want her gone, now she is. Shouldn't you guys be rejoicing?"

The words tucked at Adrian's heart. The words Naomi would say. He missed Naomi actually but it was true he didnt sense her absence. A sense of guilt overwhelm him. Naomi, the girl that everybody loves gone within a night and nobody realises it. Adrian step by step got closer to Naomi. "Don't take a step nearer to her." Darren instructed, cutting in front of Adrian. Adrian backed away. He continued studying Naomi. He missed the glint in her eyes that showed she loved her life. But he saw that flickering away. Yet he didn't try save it. He knew Naomi for years and he still couldn't see through her. His words lashed at her rebounded back at him.

He thought Naomi was stronger than that, why would she just be here, in a coma. "I'm calling over the others whether you guys want it or not."

"What's the point?! Adrian they don't care and you don't care. I was stupid to think that you would change for the better, the outcome was the same. Naomi hurt. If you need some memory refresher I can help you. VAL CAME BACK AND TOLD JINX OF WHAT NAOMI 'DID' AND THEY CHOSE TO BELIEVE SOMEONE THEY JUST MET OVER NAOMI. LUCAS NO LONGER REGARDED HER AS HIS SISTER AND THE GUYS DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE THEY ARE WHEN NAOMI NEEDED THEM. FOR YOU, DONT THINK I DIDNT HEAR THE WORDS YOU SAID TO NAOMI. NONE OF YOU EVEN REALISED SHE WAS GONE, MERRILY GOING ON WITH YOU LIVES THINKING EVERYTHING IS OH DAMN FINE. DARREN HERE AT LEAST HAD A HEART. HE ACTUALLY CARED. He noticed, the only one, at least someone has a heart unlike you. I thought it was a Rumour when it was spread that Naomi was leaving. I should have been with her instead of you. Look at her now!"

Adrian went cold. That's right, he said
All those things. Naomi is gone right now and In fact Val is rejoicing.

"In high school, did you even notice where Naomi was during that last semester?"

Adrian shook his head, "in the hospital, like right now, the same situation I just don't know is it the same cause." Adrian took a step back and dashed out. He was a factor to this. Naomi was gone because of him. In the past and now. He caught that hint from Carol.

Msg:
Adrian: come to the hospital now

Val: why? We are currently shopping.

Lucas: just go, Adrian never talks in grp chats, SHLD be important.

Adrian: gawd damn right it's important. N the two of you are going to explain things to me

Jamilah: so us? We don't need go do we?

Xerena: all our friends and families are fine last I checked

Iris: I don't think so, Adrian what are you doing at the hospital.

Adrian: not all ur friends are ok that's if you consider her as a Friend.

Jamilah: who?

Adrian: come and see for yourself.

Adrian waited for everybody to arrive before taking a lead weight step into the hospital again. They care. He was certain of it. Room 354. He remembered. Just as he was about to go in, Carol came out, the edge of the door blocked the face of the one lying in bed. "I thought I told you not to bring them here. You are not supposed to be here. I can tell them to restrict all of you from going in. Now are you going to make me?"

"15 minutes."

"Remember, they shouldn't know. If you insist then, 15 minutes that's all. Darren come on let's go to the cafeteria."

They left and Adrian took a step in. Naomi still lay still. Gasps filled the silent atmosphere. Lucas was the first to react. He went to hug Naomi, "Mi...Sis, I'm so sorry I let it happen again."

"Again?!" Everybody commented. Nobody knew this had happened before except Carol. Lucas started to cry, but he could do nothing. Naomi is already lying unconscious in that bed for who knows how Long. Jamilah, Iris and Xerena went next, together. "We should have believed you, we were foolish to think so. We just thought since Val and Lucas had the same story, only yours were different and we start to doubt it." Jamilah said. "Even so, we shouldn't have let it interfere with our friendship. We were so stupid," Xerena. "And most importantly, we love you yet we did not notice your absence. We are horrible friends."

However, Val remained indifferent. "I do not feel a bit sorry. She asked for it herself." Glares were directed at her. She shifted in her position as all eyes were like daggers piercing into her soul and searching for the truth. She quickly composed herself and walked out of the room. Even Lucas could not believe her for that one moment. It was Naomi, their Best Friend, sibling.

Everything was as though a dream. Nothing was real. Naomi was stuck on the edge. Fleeting between life and death. The heart monitor shows the steady beating but really, all she wants is to stay there and not get back up for it to come down again. ( get it? Nvm) She is stuck in a world where no one can enter Nor can she leave, until she chose her decision between life or death. She just wants to go down the death road. But there is something rather someone pulling at her in her subconscious. And that someone is not the only one. now she can either die or live. Her time to choose is running out. But she still wish to stay in that perfect dreamland. It's just her but everything around her is peace. If having friends hurt oh so damn much, she would love to stay alone and at peace.

Thats it, she walked down the path of her choice.

Sorry for late update. Exams suck. I miss being 5 so much. Do you which one she chose. The next few chapters would not be from Naomi, she's gone (spoiler alert). Then we would have flashback chapters. If not there is a a big loophole
