Chapter 9- Beach Day

We got to a huge extension of the building full of clothes. Skye led us to the swimwear section and I picked out a cute black surfing outfit with yellow stripes that Skye helped me find, Tamaki picked a red pair of swim trunks, Hikaru and Kaoru picked matching light green pairs, Kyoya picked a dark blue pair, and Skye found a black bikini with blood red bows to tie up the sides of her bottom, the back of her top, and neck of her top.

We pulled to a private beach of Skye's and it was so beautiful.

"Hey Haruhi you coming in?" Tamaki shouting from the water

"Yeah!" I yelled with excitement while running towards him

I ran over to Tamaki in the water and Hikaru and Kaoru joined in soon after. Even Kyoya came into the water with us. We had small splash wars and lost track of time. Hours later A huge wave broke over me and I popped back up from underwater in a mix of coughs and laughs.

"Glad I didn't wear a bikini. You still have your top Skye?" I laughed and turned to face her. I looked around to find her but couldn't see her anywhere.

"Where's Skye?" Kyoya asked as his hand went to adjust his glasses but then he realized he had taken them off so they wouldn't get lost in the ocean.

"I don't know." I said "Hikaru? Kaoru?" I asked the twins

"Haven't seen her. Tamaki?" They chimed

"No." He said, a bit worried by now

"SKYE?!" we called out

We got out of the water and walked around calling out for her. I began to worry that she had gotten into trouble somewhere. As my mind began to think of all the horrible things that could have happened I felt Tamaki's hand on my shoulder. I looked at him and relaxed when I seen his reassuring eyes.

"I'm sure she's fine. She's probably just resting somewhere or getting in a big workout." He said in a soothing voice "or she's beating the crap out of someone." he let our a soft laugh

I giggled "You're probably right." I said

We looked for her for hours but had no luck. It ended up of getting very dark so we had to take a rest near a big rock. Just when we thought it was hopeless Tamaki tripped on her foot. She had been here the whole time watching from a distance. Her laptop was on her lap and she was sleeping, leaned against the rock. Her hair was messy from the wind, slightly messy from the ocean air, and one of the straps on her bikini top had slid slightly off but didn't show anything. She was letting out low, even breaths with her mouth slightly agape.

"She's asleep boss. Don't wake her up." The twins whisper yelled at Tamaki as they glared at him for almost waking her up when he tripped on her foot.

"What do you think she was doing on her computer?" I asked the guys in a whisper

"Hmm? I was managing my finances. I must have fallen asleep soon after I started because there's hardly anything done." she said groggily while she wiped her eye with the back of her hand

"Sorry; did we wake you?" Kyoya asked her and gave her an apologetic look as he adjusted his glasses

"No. My phone went off." She said, all in a bit of a daze "I had it on my leg so I woke me up when it went off."

"I didn't hear it go off" Tamaki said confused

"That's because its on vibrate Tamaki." she told him with a bit of sass but it was clear she was too tired to make him feel like a complete idiot, which it was clear she loved to do "By the way, why are you on the ground?" she asked him when she had finally realized that he was still laying on his stomach in the sand

"Tripped." He laughed nervously

"Of course you did." she rolled her eyes, making him feel like an idiot, again "Haru, you look like you're the kind of person who would like something like this. Look at the sun set over the water. Beautiful right? I swear sometimes I get so wrapped up in my responsibilities that I forget the beauty in the world around me." she said, beginning to zone out again

"Yeah." I smiled as I watched the light ripple over the calm ocean

"I should get you guys home, it's gotten pretty late. Haru your dad must be worried sick about you."

"She's right, it's ten forty five now." Kyoya said

We dropped everyone off. After everyone was home Skye and I went to our building.

"Goodnight Skye." I said before I walked inside

"Night Haru." she said back with a yawn

I walked in the door and was immediately tackle hugged by my dad. She was right, he was worried but he let me go to bed when he saw how tried I was. I got into my pajamas and got ready to sleep. My dad knocked on my door.

"Yeah dad? You can come in."

"I brought you some water Haruhi." he said softly while he walked over to me. "Here." he said with a smile and passed me the glass

"Thanks dad." I smiled back

I took the glass and drank the water before handing out back to him. "So you made a friend? That's always good and I'm not one to judge but I'm not sure that she's the best type of person for you to be around. She's very cold and distant and when I stopped by her house to welcome her to the building all I could smell was smoke and beer. I'm just worried that she's a bad influence."

I frowned at him "Dad. She has it rough and she's going through a lot." I said trying to defend Skye

"I'm sure it can't be that bad honey." he said

"She has no family. She has to deal with everything an adult does without any help. She may be distant but it's because she's been hurt in the past and she doesn't want that to happen ever again, which is why she doesn't like to let anyone get close. Trust me dad I'll be fine. What she does to cope is what she does. She's not the kind of person that would force others to do it. Just leave her alone dad. I'm sorry but if you don't mind, I'm very tired and would like to go to bed."

"Fine then but promise you'll be careful around her." he said as he closed the door
