Chapter XIV

Brianna POV

Finally the last bell of the day rang, and the noise was horrendous. Everyone stood up and literally ran for the door, they pushed and shoved. I stood back and watched, I could see Kyle trying to get to me and on the other side there was Matt and Felix also trying to get to me. I waited till the room had mostly cleared and now there was Matt, Felix and Kyle walking over to me,

"Hey Bree so how was class?" Kyle asked just as Matt said,

"What's up hot stuff?" That's when they noticed each other the jealousy in the room was so thick you could chew it like.

"Hey guys. How was your last class?" I walked over to the door not looking at them, I didn't want to pick sides. I knew if I had to pic, it would be Kyle, I think. 

"Are you coming?" I walked over to Kyle but I didn't take his hand, he seemed to relax a little.

"It was good. I already knew what she was saying, but good anyway." He glanced at Matt and gave him a little apologetic smile, and Felix smiled brightly.

"Actually, she's coming with me." I turned and with a shock I saw, Allaya. She was leaning against the doorframe her silver hair had been cut so that it swung loosely under her shoulder blades.

"Allaya!" I ran over to her and threw my arms around her. I could feel her laugh and hugged her back, "What are you doing here?" I questioned.

"I'm here to see you! Isn't it your birthday tomorrow. Irey and I wanted to come and visit!" She laughed and took my hand, "Now we need to go!"

"Are you kidnapping me from school and the rest of the ele-" I looked back at Felix, I knew that Matt knows who and what we are. But Felix, I can't risk it.

"Well you could put it that way. Sorry boys, Bree and I have to have some girl time." She started to drag me off,

"Ok bye!" I yelled back at them, I couldn't hear them answer.

"So, you and Kyle." We walked outside, the bright light shone between the gaps in the cloud. It highlighted spots on the ground, Allaya started to lead me to the parking lot where I saw Irey in the front seat of a black BMW.  He hopped out the car and ran to me, he threw his arms around me and squeezed,

"If I wasn't a air elemental then I wouldn't be able to breath. But you my ribs still break! Irey!" He laughed and let go.

"Sorry it's just we've missed you! And I need some bro time with Dem and Ash. So yeah, we're going to hang around for a few months."

"So where are we headed?" They looked at each other and gave a little node.

"It's a... Surprise! I could blindfold you and stuff you in the BMW or you could get in yourself." He waves a bandana at me and stepped closer,

"Ok! Ok! I'm getting in, no need for your childish ways." I laughed and got in the back seat of the car. Allaya jumped through the open roof and into the front seat with Irey driving, I couldn't say that it was a good experience. He drove like a maniac! He swerved around and drove on the wrong side of the road so that cars drove straight at us.

"Irey! Have you ever drove here! Watch out!" I held out my arms in an X in front of my face, a shimmering wall of solid air currents absorbed the impact of the crash.

"Get out! now!" I kicked open the door and grabbed them both pulling them out of the car, I could smell the gasoline. Flames liked up the sid of the car, I crossed my arms in an X just as the car blew up. Thousands of scraps of metal blasted against my shield, cracks begin forming in the my shield. I looked up to see a massive metal plaque impaled itself in my shield it passed through it and hit me scare in my face, and then only darkness.

John Black POV 

Brunswick, Karthander and I were never close, we're too different. Brunswick the wolf man was too tricky to trust, he would lean over to supposed his best friend and plant a knife in his back. Then he would laugh and watch as his 'friend' slowly dies. Karthander was a rare aquatic lizard species, he was cruel and heartless. He was like an angel in the way he acted, hartless. But he was a mutant, there were only 4 in the world of his kind. He killed his other three broths and joined our side, he was green and slimy. But his skin looked like a reptile, instead of blinking like a human, closing the eyelids down. His closed to the left and his eyes would change their pupil shape, right now they were like mine, full black. We have been on the run for two months, at first our survival instinct had told us to kill each other. But now we kill together, it has been the hardest months of my life because of all the elemental alarms we set off. We can be hunting some worthless humans and then Brunswick would stop and smell, then we're back on the run. We're sitting in an abandoned construction site eating some of our emergency meat stock, it's taken me a few weeks to get use to how Karthander eats. He has terrifying but amazing long black thorn-like teeth, he would dangle the food above his head and drop it right down his throat, sometimes he would swallow hole humains.  

"We have some tails." Brunswick declared abruptly.

I turned slowly and silently stood up,

"What kind?" I whispered softly.

By now we we're all standing all looking for a flash of movement, a flash of silver wised passed my ear. A Saynk was tailing us, a Saynk is a messenger for the angles. There small, silver and incredibly fast, worst of all they are deadly. One bite even from a baby and you will be wishing you were dead, they unleash a poison witch is nown to us by the name Kartaiens which makes all your intestines swell up to ten times their size. Then the Saynk attacks your dead body and eats all your insides, leaving a sheet of skin.

Suddenly a wolf cried out in pain.
