Demetrious POV

My Best Friend is officially 18! Now only Allaya is 16, she is definitely the baby sister of the family. I walked up to her room where I literally just walked through the door without knocking.

"Hey?" Kyle turned to look at me astonished.

"I'm here to say that where all downstairs waiting for Bree to come down!" She smiled and threw her arms around my neck, she smelled like vanilla and honey. I wrapped my arms around her and squeezed, a faint scare was fading on her forehead.

"If I wasn't a an air elementalist I would say, 'I can't breathe' But I feel my ribs rebreaking! Dem. Dem!" I let her go and she laughed and gave me a little punch in the gut. Kyle came over in his jeans, shirtless of course.

"I'll be down in a second. I just need to finish some stuff." He smiled and kissed her cheek.

"Oh... Ok." I looked over at him and he gave me a wink.

"Come on, let's go." I put my large hands over her small face covering her eyes.

"I'm going to fall." She laughed and held out her hands on either side of her as we walked down the stairs. She hovered above the stairs as I guided her down the stairs.

"No cheating!"

"Do you want me to fall down the stairs!" She demanded, she landed on the floor when we were off the staircase. I took my hands away from her face as we stepped into the bright, festively decorated living area it had streamers, balloons and beer. Matt, Freya, Allaya, Edlen, Grace, Grey, Jay, Irey, even Sam (Bree's monster dragon thing) was in his multi coloured form. As I took my hands off her eyes they all yelled "Happy Birthday!" Colorful streamers erupted in the air. She put her hands to her mouth and shook her head comically.

We sat in a circle with Brianna sitting on the couch, Kyle came down and sat on the chair next to me.

"Ok. Here." Allaya gave her a elegantly wrapped, hug, square package wrapped in black shiny wrapping paper. She pulled on the midnight blue bow and the black shiny paper fell away like a wave crashing. A coffee machine in hot pink with diamonds for buttons.

"Coffee!" Bree LOVES coffee! You should see her when she's shopping with the girls, she stops  minimum 5 times in 4 hours!

"Allaya! Yes!" She hugged her tightly and gave her a kiss on the cheek. The smallest sign of tension flickered over Kyle's face, then he relaxed.

It was almost eleven o'clock by the time we had all finished, now we all sat in the kitchen eating some cake.

"Hey Dem." Bree came and rapped her arms around my solid chest she kissed my cheek as I spun round on the spiny bar chairs to face her.

"You guys are the best!" She laughed and chuged her beer, she stagered slightly as she sat on my lap.

"Bree you're drunk." I laughed and scooped her up in my arms, she laughed and her head lolled to one side.

"I feel sick."

"Did Kyle get you drunk?" I laughed.

"Well at least I'm dating someone." Her words were slurred as she talked,

"And I'm happy." She sat up in my arms and crashed back into them as she said "happy" as I started to climb the stairs, she wasn't exactly the lightest girl in the world . She had big muscles and her abs gave her a sort of a "don't touch me, I'm drunk." She closed her eyes as I started to walk to her room.

Brianna POV

I awoke with a roaring headache and massive stomach cramps, Kyle was nowhere to be seen. I rolled out of bed clutching my head and began to trudge to the bathroom, I felt sticky and wet and my lashes had dried glew licked which pulled on my lashes as I blinked. I stripped down to get in the shower, my vision was blurry and my eyes stung as tears began to run down my face as I tried to clear all the liquid from them. I turned on the water and the shower flaw turned gold with blood. My vision cleared as I touched my face and the thousands of healing cuts stripping my entire body. It looked as if I had ran through a glass wall, my face had long crisscrossing open wounds spilling golden quintessence. By now a puddle of golden thick blood ran through the cracks in my tilled floor, my clothes were stained gold. I opened the door and saw that a large stain had spread from my bed and had stained a large sickle, a meter in diameter. My shower was still spitting hot water and the steam tickled my skin, I stepped cautiously back into the shower. The boiling water stung my cut up body, I shampooed and watched the quintessence from my hair. I started the careful examination of my wounds. Frantique nocking made me jump, I forgot I locked the door,

"Bree!" I scrambled for a towel as I unlocked the door to see Ash staring with horrified wide eyes into my wet, bleeding, mastered face.

"Bree." He exhaled and looked me up and down, "Your. Your. Oh." He stumbled over his words as he gently wrapped his arms around me. "What happened?"

"Truthfully, I have no clue." He gently and hesitantly took my hand and looked at my cutts.

"Can I show you something?" He peeled off his shirt for me to see 3 long straight burnes, they were red raw and scabbed.

"I talked to Gray and he told me about what had happened to him. He woke up one day throwing up black licked and he tasted it and found that in was a Kalthalone's blood. He said there is a major disturbance in our realm of sleep." He tenderly held my hand up towards his eyes.

"Oh shit. O.H.S.H.I.T." He spelled out every syllable as he suddenly grabbed me, grabbed a dressing gown from my closet. "Put this on. Now."

I hardly put it on, I didn't care that Ash was still in my room because every bone in my body began to burn as if I had swallowed the fires of hell.

"Ash." I rasped my throat was dry as if burnt. He roughly scooped me up making my heart give of a surge of fire.

"Gray." Ash hollard, the sharp sounds of voices echoed around my head, each breath brought a new surge of pain. Now a new, cold pair of hands were touching my skin.

"Give me that." A sharp pain in my chest made me scream, hands held me down, only the feel of liquid and sharp stabs of pain made my vision blur and my veins bulge. I screamed out.

John Black POV

It has been only a day since Brunswick got killed by those cursed Saynk. It hadn't been pretty, when his intestines had burst through his skin. All the thousands of littles heartless creatures had swarmed the pool of red guts, the ground had absorbed the blood but still! He was a friend but an enemy in the same body, he had had a cold soul but there were cracks that grief and anguish had formed. That was something I could understand, grief makes a person harsh, reckless and when harnessed, it's a weapon. A weapon of powerful feelings, something that my Lord uses. I found myself quickening my pace. Karthander yelled after me,

"Oy, are you serious! I may not be the fastest creator! But at least talk!" Karthander is strange, he likes to talk about human things. Just by looking at him you could tell he was young, 18 or 19. The same age as Brianna, her birthday had passed. Even if I'm not her true father, I still have the need for a family. I looked back at Karthander.

"Could I just call the Karth or something. Karthander is a bite to long for me to say each time, especially since we're the only two left standing." He smiled a toothless smile,

"Karth? I could live with that. It's better than fish boy." He laughed and I could see that he was just a boy, a boy with insecurities, a boy with a heart. I found myself caring for him. It's a strange feeling, I thought I had lost it long ago, when I had lost Brianna's mother.
