The day had gone smoothly but I was still nervous about what I had promised my sister. I was gonna wait until fifth period so that way if it went horribly I wouldn't have to every see him again. I could just drop out of school and bam, he would be gone, out of my life for good.

"Have you talked to him yet?" Jared asked. I met up with her for lunch like every other day.

"I'm waiting until fifth period, don't worry. When have I ever broken a promise?"

"You better do it, because if you don't I'll know. I have ears in that class."

"That's oddly creepy." I giggled.

"I know!" She smiled.

The end of fourth period came way sooner then I wanted it to. My nerves are completely on edge. What am I actually supposed to say? I've never been in a situation like this before.

Before I knew it I was standing at the doorway of my biology class. That pull already trying to draw me to him.

I started shaking, standing frozen.

You can do this. You can do this.

I gained my composure and walked into class like nothing was wrong. I sat down beside him and glanced over as he kept his eyes on the book he was reading.

"H-hi." I murmured quietly knowing that he'd be able to hear it.

"Did you just breach your own agreement?" He asked smirking, not taking his eyes off his book.

"I'm sorry I acted that way towards you and your family. It's just apart of my nature."

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked finally looking over to me.

"I'm a Hunter, of the supernatural." He grew more intrigued by this.

"I've never heard of such a thing."

"Well, we have abilities from both your kind and the wolves. Like for example we have the speed and senses of the wolves and the strength and immortality of the vampires."

"How old are you?"

"I'm only nineteen, but when my parents passed they were both like in the two hundreds."

"I'm sorry to here about your parents. Would I be over stepping if I asked how?"

"No, it's fine. Their actually part of the reason I was so harsh with you a couple days ago. They were both murdered by one of your kind right in front of me when I was ten."

"I would be harsh if that had happened to me. No hard feelings here."

"Thanks for that."

"So does this mean we are gonna try to be friends?" He asked smirking again.

"I suppose it does."

"Well then, I never formally introduced myself. I'm Jasper hale." He held his hand out for me to shake it.

"Briggs Conners." We shook hands.

"Briggs? That's unique name."

"Hunters are supposed to be warriors so we always have more of an intimidating name. But I guess they didn't quite feel that way about my sister Jared."

"I like it.  It really seems to suit you."

"So, how did you become what you are now?" I asked.

"That's a very long story. How about I tell you that after class."

"Deal."

The bell rang and we both fell silent as the teacher began to speak.

Our gazes met one another's and we sat in a peaceful daze. Each other getting lost in the haze of the others eyes. Before they knew it the bell went off and it was the end of the day.

"Do you want to walk with me? I can tell you that story" He asked.

"Sure, but I have to drive my sister home, so try to make it quick."

"Yes Ma'am." He gave me a cute smirk.

"Ah no, first mistake. Don't call me "Ma'am " ever again."

Jasper started to laugh, his laugh sounded like a song.

"My apologies."

"You're obviously not from this century."

"Obvious how?" He seemed shocked by my statement.

"Well for one, it's you accent, but we all you can't change that. Then second, your to proper. nobody this day and age would say "Ma'am" or "My apologies". Don't worry though, it works for you."

"I that so?"

"As a teenager from this century, I say yes."

I never would have thought I would be goofing off with a Vampire in high school.

"Anyways, story go." We had already made it to my locker.

"I joined the Confederate Army as Jasper Whitlock, before I even turned seventeen, using my ability of persuasion I was promoted to Major about two years later. I was helping evacuate women and children when I came across three women. I immediately offered them my aid.

One of them was a vampire named Maria. I didn't know it at the time, but she was building an Army of her own and soon enough I was a part of it. I was the one that trained the new borns.

Maria never let them live any longer then a year so it was my job to dispose of them. I could feel every emotion they felt before I destroyed them.

I thought Maria loved me but I was really just her Puppet and she was pulling the strings.

But then Alice came along and we found the Cullen's. I've been with them ever since."

"Wow, that must have really sucked and I like your old last name a lot more then "Hale"." He started chuckling at my reaction.

"I do to."

"So you were an actual Cowboy?"

"No, I was a Confederate Soldier." Jasper corrected with a smile.

"Same difference!" I whined.

"Whatever you say."

We stepped outside and I spotted Jared leaning against the truck waiting for me.

"I should go, Jared's waiting for me."

"Yeah, the others are probably waiting for me to."

"See ya later Cowboy." I giggled and started walking away.

"See you around Ma'am!" He smirked.

I spun on my heels. "Ooh!" I playfully growled.

Jared cat called "Hey B, see you kept your promise."

"Yep."

"Gonna give me details?"

"Nope."

We got in the truck and went home.
