The Skiptracers had silently checked the perimeter of the building and I watched as they slowly pushed on the cracked glass of the front door and walked in. I was frozen in place, to busy trying to calm the sea of thoughts that bombarded my brain and forced tears down my cheeks. 'You can't do this, she's a goner, she's going to die, you can't die too, get your sister, GO BACK!' the thoughts swarmed and swirled inside my head. 'GO BACK, DEAD, GO BACK!' I pressed the palms of my hands against my temples in a failed attempt to ease the headach that made my head throb. The tears ran down my face faster now with no sign that they would soon stop and I let a wimper escape my lips. I fell backwards and slapped my hands over my mouth before another one could make its way out and get me caught. I sat there with my hands muffling every shuttering breath I took until a high pitched scream came from inside the corner store.

There was no time to think about death, not now, not when I knew she was in trouble. I grabbed the edge of the car in front of me and shakily pulled myself up; I whipped away what was left of my tears and took one last shaky breath before running toward the store. I stopped before reaching the doors, I quiet entrance would be more to my advantage rather than running in blind. I peared in from the store window, the place was a mess, more than it had been when I first came here and the generators were no longer running; instead they were smoking. 'Not a good sign' I thought as I walked back towards the doors. I placed one hand on the glass and pushed against it carefully, wincing when it got caught on a peice of metal and mad a silent screaching sound. I listened for a moment, waiting for gun shots to erupt from one of the doorways or white noise to peirce my ears and collapse; but nothing happened. I sighed in relief but couldn't help but wonder why nothing had happened. I took a deep breath and continued walking, starring down at the floor every now and again to make sure I didn't step on anything that would make noise or possibly kill me. I looked around the main part of the store preparing to see a girls dead body on the floor or the Skiptracers prepared to fire; but there was nothing, it was quiet.

The quiet didn't last when I heard someone yelling in another room separated from the main store. The voice was low and masculine, most likely the man I saw walk into the store earlier. His voice wasn't completely audible through the thick door but I could tell he was mad. I silently mad my way to the door and pushed my ear up against it, trying to catch what he was saying. "You're lucky we need the money or you would be dead!" His voice hit my ear and I jumped just a bit "ah! watch it woman!" He was yelling at his partner now. She instantly threw an insult at him then told him to stay still as she patched him up. 'The girl must have put up a good fight then.' I thought only to remember that she was in there with them now and probably tied up. I backed away from the door and sighed, I had to do something, I was here and I wasn't going to leave without her. I held up my hand, about to snap my fingers and charge into the room full force and burn this place to the ground; but I stopped, if I did that her and I would surely die and that wasn't on my to do list. I lowered my hand and let it rest at my side, I had to think, come up with a plan of attack. I looked around 'I could jump them' I thought 'they will have to leave the room soon and the front doors are the only exit here' I nodded, happy with my plan.

I crouched behind a shelf midway between the room and the doors at the front so that I could have time to ignite my fire. My breaths were slow and shallow as I waited for them to emerge from the back. It wasn't long until the door creaked open and I heard the two Skiptracers argument about if they should gag the girl or simply knock her out. I crouched lower behind the shelf and listened to their aproaching footsteps, ready to burn their shit faces off. I peeked through the small space in the shelf, catching a glimpse of one of the black letter boots. It was time to take action. I snapped my fingers and ran out from my hiding spot before the the flame had time to manifest into a fire along my arm. I had to attack fast before they could draw there guns on me. I grabbed the man's jacket, setting it a blaze with my flames then lunged for the woman holding the girl beside him and leaving him to scream. She through her to the ground and reached her gun before I got to her. 'Shit!' I jumped to the side, away from the gun.and ran to the back of the store, this is what I was afraid of. I squeezed in a small opening beside a cooler; the man was screaching at the woman to put out the fire that quickly spread across his back to his chest. She yelled some smart remarks at him and I saw her head disappear behind one of the many shelves at the front. Now I could attack again, while she was detracted. I crept out from beside the cooler and back to the front; my flames were still lit along my arm. The woman was yelling and slapping the man's back in an attempt to put out the fire on him, I almost laughed they were so stupid, still her back was to me witch was the perfect opening. I figured once they were both burning up it would make it easy to get away with the girl and if not they would be easy to finish off when they were flailing around on the floor. I once again ran out towards the Skiptracers with my hand streached out in front of me ready to burn the woman and get the hell out of here. I was a few feet away from her but I guess she heard me, she turned around last minute and I gasped as my scorching hand made contact with soft flesh instead of a stiff jacket. My hand froze, clenching her face and I watched, terrified as her skin melted away and her hair almoast vanished as it touched the flames engulfing her head. She screamed and wreathed around in my grasp; it was gut wrenching, I couldn't take it, I let go and she instantly grabbed at what was left of her face once I did. I backed away, I hadn't meant to do this, my fire slowly died with every backwards step I took until it was completely gone and I had reached the girl. I looked down at her; she was clearly terrified, I couldn't blame her I was too. I took off her gag and told her I had my truck waiting and we could easily get away. She shook her head "I'm not going with you, you're a monster!" She screamed the insult in my face. "I am saving your ass!" I countered her coment "I intend to succeed with this" I added before hauling her up and over my shoulder. She screamed louder and wriggled her body in my grasp, I ignored her and ran out of the store, leaving the man still screaming and the woman passed out and possibly dead.

I burst through the door of our store and called out to Caroline as I dumped the screaming girl onto the floor witch shut her up for a moment as her tail bone came in contact with the cement and laminate flooring. "Caroline we have to go... Now!" I called out to her, wherever she was. "No, don't she's crazy, a monster" the girl screeched out after me. I looked down at her I was pissed and done with her screaming. I leaned down beside her and shoved my hand over her mouth to muffle the ugly sounds coming from it "I will put that damn gag back over your hole if you don't shut the damn hell up!" I threatened her and removed my hand, she didn't scream so I suppose it worked. "Caroline!" I called again and this time her head pocked out from behind the nearest shelf with a bag of dried fruit in her mouth. "Come on we have to hurry" I said, nodded and walked out holding cans and bags and containers of food of all sorts. I let her head out in front of me as I had to grab the girl. She placed everything she had gathered in the back of truck along with an extra bit of gas she had aparently grabbed while I was gone and got in the front. I then opened the door on the other side and helped the girl in, I cast a quick glance at her binds but I couldn't worry about the hose yet, we weren't home free yet. I slammed the door on her and hurried to the front, turned the key and floored the gas pedal, Caroline and the girls heads flung backwards and the girl let out a small yelp as the sudden shove of the vehicle. And so we were off again to god knew where and now with a new passenger.
