I sat in the chair next to the Captain's chair my sunflower blond hair hitting my back in its low ponytail that I currently had it in. I now was twenty-one years old and accomplished so much during the few years I was with Pike. I knew a dialect of Klingon (which I learnt when I was in Academy, I never got a chance to learn the other dialects, unfortunately), I've been on a few planets during my time too, made some real great friends on the ship; Chekov and I got a long great because we were close in age; Anyway, I look around and everything seems to be in order, I quietly get up and began walking towards my room ignoring everything around me, everyone knew me - they knew me as First Officer and as Aria Pike, the adopted daughter of Christopher Pike. I don't think they cared about it.
I entered my room, and it was plain as day, dresser in one corner, a twin-size bed with a bathroom in the other corner, I look over to see a small desk in the corner, I lightly smile walking towards it and sat down in the chair and looked at the small computer in front of me. Pinching my lips, I debated a little to look up something. Sighing finally, I opened the computer.
"Computer," I began quietly hearing it chime and open. "Could you look up the Hale family tree for me, please?" I crossed my leg over my other one while I leaned back into my chair, resting my chin against my fist I made. I use my other hand to twist a strand of hair in my finger.
"Hale family tree not found; no results." I let out a small smile as I stop twisting my hair and put my hand down and sigh little bit. Though, I didn't push it any further because I didn't want the answer on why. I knew. It was a deep hatred I had for my family for the last several years, did I blame them? No. Could I forgive them. Never.
They've ignored my reasonings to go into space, they didn't accept the fact that it made me happy. I haven't looked back, and I had no reason too. Why should I? Thankfully, this man I'm travelling with had adopted me without the knowledge of my biological parents, as far as they were aware, I never existed since I've ran away. Have they looked for me? Nope. They had my little sister and brother to spoil in ways they couldn't with me. I didn't care. Before I could acknowledge more of my thoughts, the intercom chimed in my room.
"First Officer Aria, you're needed on deck." said the voice on the intercom as I stood up fixing my dress and quickly wiping my eyes so they couldn't see if I was crying. I let out a breath and shake my hands a little bit.
"I'm on my way," I look around my room again, I let another breath and began walking out of the room and began heading back to the deck, as the computer chimed off and closed behind him.
My hair swayed behind me with each step I took, my hazel eyes staring in front of me making sure I held the confidence behind them. I was thinking back on the deletion of the Hale family while I was walking; it gave me a new start on life, obviously. Though they have tried to put me in the mechanical part of the ship, mechanics was not my strong point, though. There was a reason why I never set foot back into the engine room. One of the engines blew up in my face.
