Uhura walked behind Spock to the lift and the lift begins moving, Uhura takes a deep breath and stops the lift looking at Spock's sad face -even though he was hiding it well- she feels really bad for what happened to Vulcan, he couldn't save his mother which made him sad. The last of his species. Uhura begins to apologize to him sadly and quietly and kiss him.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Uhura was saying as she kissed him. "What do you need? Tell me. Tell me." She began speaking quietly again, trying to get him to talk.
Spock turns the lift back on and looks in her brown eyes reminding her and letting her know what he wanted. "I need everyone to continue performing admirably."
Uhura nods and replies with an "Okay" and they kiss a little more and Spock exits the corridor, and she watches him go, she sighs knowing how sad he is. Poor man...
*~*~*
I walked back into the bridge seeing everyone talking about the Romulans. I sigh a little bit when I heard the door close behind me.
"Oh my god, Aria, are you okay?" Mae asked rushing to me as I look at my best friend. "I know you know that I mean mentally, emotionally?"
I chuckle raising my hand a little bit and touch her shoulder. "I'm fine, Mae, just - trying to figure out how to get my dad back."
Mae nods touching my hand gently, as we both look over seeing everyone still speaking. I bit my lip a little too tight and watched them.
"There won't be a next engagement..." James told Spock making Mae and I look at one another quickly and back at them. "By the time we've gathered, it'll be too late. But you say he's from the future, knows what's going to happen, then the logical thing is to be unpredictable."
"You are assuming that Nero knows how events are predicted to unfold." Spock told James, making James snort quietly. "To the contrary, Nero's very presence has altered the flow of history, beginning with the attack on the USS Kelvin, culminating in the events of today, thereby creating an entire new chain of incidents that cannot be anticipated by either party."
"An alternate reality?" asks Uhura and I looking at one another and then back to Spock.
Spock nods curtly. "Precisely. Whatever our lives might have been, if the time continuum was disrupted, our destinies have changed." Spock turns to Sulu while I take a deep breath. "Mr. Sulu, plot a course to the Laurentian system warp factor three."
I take a step forward, "Spock, don't do that!" I watch as Spock and James turn to me. "Running back to the rest of the fleet for a confab is a massive waste of time, you and I both know that..."
"... Orders issued by Captain Pike when he left..."
James stepped in, "He also ordered us to go back and get him. Spock, you're Captain now!" I look at James, happy he was on my side. "You have to be..."
