Learn from your mistakes. It sounds simple, but so many people insist on trying the same thing over and over, certain that it will work if they try it 'one more time'. - JEI

"Hey there, Delilah!"

My life the last few weeks has gotten into a routine. In the morning til' early afternoon, I go to school. After school, I come back and train with one of the guys for a few hours. One of us would make dinner (we had a rotation for whose turn it was, yet they pleaded with me most of the time to make dinner, and I complied, considering I didn't want to have pizza and mac and cheese every day). After dinner, I would do my homework and hang out with the guys. Then I would go to bed and get up the next day to do it all over again. This schedule was very familiar to me because this is what I had done when I lived with Tyler.

There were some differences, though. For one thing, at this school, I'm known as Delilah Knight because Declan is the one who signed me up and is posing as my older brother 'guardian'. Matthias said that changing my name was non-negotiable if I wanted to go to school because he doesn't want anyone to be able to find me. Apparently, after the Triad and the Gatslan's gang incident, my name is kinda famous and some people want to use my new profoundly 'talents'.

Declan complained about posing as my brother almost as much as I complained about changing my name (not legally of course; they got me fake documents, including a fake license with my new name). He said he couldn't possibly appear to be legitimately related to me - and I agreed. I'm way more attractive than he is....but I digress.

"HEY. THERE. DELILAH."

With a sigh, I roll my eyes and turn to the person who insists on quoting that stupid song. His name is Cameron, and he is one of my classmates, unfortunately.

"Dude, that's not even original," I say.

"It doesn't have to be original to be funny," he replies with a smirk.

"It also doesn't have to be original to be stupid," I shoot back sharply.

He walks me to my class, flirting the entire way. I try to gently put all his attempts down but he is not to be dissuaded from his goals which apparently are to woo me in some way for some unspecified reason. He even tried to kiss me, but I was trained to dodge knives, so lips are the easiest and slowest moving target ever.

I didn't think too much of the situation at the time. I didn't really think there was that much to think about.

In between classes, at the end of the day, I go to the bathroom. The beginning of my trip to the bathroom was very standard, but when I started washing my hands, this little excursion went off script.

As I'm washing my hands, one of the girls that I've seen in my classes walks in, with three other girls in tow. I smile vaguely at her and turn to dry my hands.

"We need to talk, Delilah," she said.

"Huh?" I wasn't really paying attention to her. I know some girls consider going to the bathroom to be a social event, but I prefer to socialize in a more comfortable setting. And do my business in silence.

"We need to talk, Delilah," this strange girl insists. I shrug and walk out the bathroom. I have no intentions of having a 'private' conversation with her in the bathroom. If she wanted to talk about something, we would do it in a public place. That was something Tyler had taught me.

That was actually not a good decision.

"Delilah!" She shrieked, following me out and drawing the attention of everyone in the near vicinity. "You don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you!"
