Chapter 24: I Need You Know

I increased my speed, driving down the road.

My heart was pounding and my hands were cold. My vision started to get blurry, again. I blinked my eyes a couple of times.

I was beyond angry right now. I need to release this anger inside me or I'll go insane.

They lied.

They all lied.

We're family. But how could they?

I was blinded by a light coming towards, making my bike swerve to the side, losing my balance.

Why?

"Hi!" I jumped a little when Harry hugged me from behind.

"Someone's a bit jumpy." He teased. I turned around and pinched his cheeks.

"I'm not. Just don't do it again or I might hit you." I continued pinching and squishing his face, making his face look weird. I burst out laughing at how adorable he is. He clasped both of my hands, intertwining our fingers.

"Are you done making fun of me, girlfriend?" I immediately blushed.

Girlfriend! So foreign. My stomach was doing cartwheels and my cheeks were obviously red as an apple now.

"You look so cute when you blush." He teased again.

"I-I don't." I stuttered. Great. Now I looked stupid.

"And even better when you're stuttering." He smirked. I hate him.

"Shut up." I buried my face on his chest. This is so embarrassing.

"Make me." I shot my head up.

"Wh-what?" there goes the stuttering again.

"I said make me." He wiggled his eyebrows and making kissy faces.

I was on my tippy toes and I placed a kiss on his lips. Damn him and his height.

"Ewww!" Sunny squealed. We both looked at her. She was covering her eyes and giggling. She peeked on the spaces of her tiny fingers.

"Momma said it's time to eat."

Harry carried her and went downstairs for dinner.

After dinner, Harry left. Not before stealing a lot of kisses.

I walked towards the office to have a little chat with my dad. I was about to enter when I heard them talking.

"I decided to closed the case." dad said.

"What? You can't do that dad." Charles argued. I moved closer to the door and continued listening.

"It's almost been fourteen years Charles and we still haven't found a lead to your mother's death."

Wait! Lead to mother's death. Mom died in an accident. Right?

"Dad, we can't stop right now. The police said they have the mechanic."

"But he won't spill it out. He said he rather go to jail."

"Then we'll make him talk-"

I'm done listening. I pushed the door and stepped in. Both of them turned their heads in my direction. They look like they've seen a ghost.

"Andie, how long have you been there?" Dad stood up from his seat while Charles shifted uncomfortably.
