Nishi

Nishi looked out of her window, sun was shining beautifully "Last day in New York, eight year went so fast and tomorrow I am going back home, I am not same Nishi now" she thought and wrapped her arm around herself. Her chain of thought broke when Pam her best friend walk behind and took her into bone crushing hug "I am going to miss you Nishu" Pam said with teary eyes. Pam as in Pamela and Nishi are friends since 8 years and today both are graduation from same class.

Nishi turned and took Pam into hug " I am going to miss you too Pamy " Nishi said " don't go back to India" Pam said and sat on one of the vanity chair "your life is here in NY , you haven't visited India in these 8 years your parents are the one who come to meet you" Pam said folding her arms as if she is not up for any argument and Nishi has to understand and stay here, she again continued "It's not that you will go to Arjun she paused and looked at her..." he is long gone from your life you never ask about him he never contacted you" Pam furiously stated .

Nishi heart skipped a beat with the mention of his name Arjun's name but this New Nishi knows how to control her heart, she smiled and pulled a chair and sat opposite to Pam taking her hand she took a deep breath "Hmm...my so furious Pamy I know you are going to miss me but dad needs me there, I did HM so that I can help dad in his business" she said softly.

"But" Pam tried to speak ...Nishi stoop up and pulled Pam along "let's go we don't want to be late on our graduation" Nishi gestured Pam "O my we are graduating today" Pam screamed and took Nishi into hug, tears welled up in their eyes they know today is the last day they are hugging soon Nishi will go away and never return back.

Nimmi heart filled with pride when she saw her daughter walking towards them. A small smile erupted onto her lips and she walk and embrace Nishi and Pam together "Girls its time" Navneet broke their sweet hug and all walk to the car lined up in the parking of Nishi's aunt Apartment.

They walk hand in hand like two little girls, waving hand at their parents who were seated on the right side, they walk towards their seat which was on first row. "I am feeling proud of myself" Pam whispered and they both sat on their respective seat.

Graduation ceremony starts with the speech of director. "I miss you Arjun , I wish you were here to see me graduating, today "I will talk to dad and message you Arjun , you will reply me I know you will" her trance broken when "Nishi Gill, Student of the year".

Nishi was too tired to get ready for graduation party but she knows that Pam will soon come and kill her if she didn't get ready soon, So Nishi stood up from her bed and in record time of 50 minutes she got ready. Her black gown fits her perfectly. She was ready to go down when she heard a knock at her door "may I come in" Navneet looked at his daughter and smiles, she look beautiful but he do not have words to express so without saying anything he walks inside the room, sitting on the edge of the bed he patted the spot beside him, Nishi sat on the same spot where her father patted,he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer" we are so proud of you baby" his voice filled with emotions Nishi looked up and kiss his cheek Navneet continued "Nishi are you sure you want to come back to India" his eyes shows concern , his heart want his daughter to come back home with them "yes dad its final I am coming back" Nishi got up "how do I look daddy" she asked twirling around " you look beautiful" Navneet laughed and got up "she is so sweet, my baby!" he thought and pulled her into hug , "I am so proud of you my princess" he said and sigh , Arjun is the one who always calls her princess.

"How is Arjun?" Nishi asked, gently placing her head on his chest "I can't tell you about Arjun now is not the right time" Navneet thought "Dad how is Arjun" she again asked tilting her head and looking up at her father.

"He is good..all are doing good" he looked down at her daughter. "I want to mail him my graduation picture" Nishi said and walk to her vanity "I will sent him" Navneet replied looking at his daughter "why not me" Nishi asked, she picked her silver clutch and mobile and walk back to her father "they have shifted from London , you are not in contact since you came to NY" he simply stated looking directly.

Nishi nodded and looked down at floor, she hesitantly "dad he never replied any of my mail she said still looking down not meeting her father's eyes. Navneet nodded and took a deep breath. Three years back he asked Arjun what had happened between them in Chandigarh and hesitantly Arjun shared it with him. Since then Navneet is sure one day Arjun and Nishi will be together.

"I will message him Nishi you don't worry" he said and gently kissed her forehead , he can read his daughter eyes she still love Arjun and he promised himself one day he will bring Arjun and nishi together.

Evening hummed with excitement but Pam was pestering Nishi since they came her "come on Nishi once think from my point of view, your life is now here" Nishi glared at her friend "Stop it!! Pam I know you are feeling bad but I need to go back" she turned and walk towards the French door. She need space Pam was too adamant, she was about to slide the door when someone pulled her gently. Nishi turned to find Vicky grinning at her "may I have an honor of dancing with you, my lady" he asked and gently took her hand "please don't say no Nishi last dance" he pleaded and pulled her towards dance floor.

Nishi is aware of Vicky's feeling, they all are friend since first day of university but Vicky started behaving differently last year. He became possessive with Nishi and slowly she started avoiding him. "You look beautiful" Vicky said and pulled Nishi closer, his hand roam down her back. Nishi tried to free herself "stay with me" he whispered in her ear "its suffocating in here" she pushed him away he slowly lowered his eye and pulled her to his body "marry me" he whispered again Nishi gasped, with wide eyes she looked at him , he grinned and took her cheeks in his palm "I am crazy in love with you" he gently touched her ear with his lips lingering a small kiss there. Nishi pushed him away and once again looked at him he was looking at her pain and confusion written over his face "I'll never marry anyone" she said looking directly into his eyes and walk away from him.
