Apparently I had a long journey with Ward to get to Hunter. Well, Ward told me we had to check into a hotel first but wouldn't tell me where abouts. I was hopeless at directions and town names so I had no idea where we were even near. Thankfully we've already been driving for a few hours.

I had so many scenarios played out in my head for when I see my brother again, one would end up with us both fighting each other. Another would end up as him dead and another would end up with Ward being dead then me killing him as a revenge plan.

"Are you worried?" Ward asked, breaking me out of my little thought bubble. I was worried, there was no need to deny it. I was trusted enough to be taken on this mission but to see my brother again and to see how he has reacted...I really didn't know what to expect.

"Do you think he'll be upset? Do you think he was worried about me?" I asked, keeping my head down to try not to look at him.

"Jessica, he's probably too focused on killing me. Like you told me at the start, his main mission is to kill me. He'll deal with you after" He told me and I clenched my fists. Would he even notice me? Pay any attention to me whilst Ward was there? I thought he'd choose me over a mission! Family over work!

"Don't worry, he'll notice me" I spat looking out the window. I wouldn't cry anymore, not over my family. My parents deserved my tears but Hunter didn't deserve anything from me. He caused me so much pain in the past and I had no doubt that he didn't even take into consideration what I was feeling whilst he was ignoring me. I've just got to the point where I've had enough.

"I don't want you to be reckless like him, Jess" Ward warned me and I nodded looking at him, he looked worried. I smiled slightly, appreciating how caring he was for me.

"We'll get through this" I told him, placing my hand on his gently. "Thank you for doing this for me"

"I don't want Hunter to destroy you, I can't have shield destroy you like they did me. I won't let it happen again" He whispered driving a little faster. "We're nearly at the hotel. When we get there we need to act like a couple booking in for a weekend away" He told me and I nodded. A couple? Me and Ward? I mean, he's caring but is he the loving type? I mean he has held my hand and kissed my forehead but that was for support, surely? It would be easy to act as his other half though, he was a looker I'd give him that.

"So, if we're acting as a couple are we sharing a couples suite?" I asked, feeling a hot sensation burn my cheeks. He obviously noticed and let out a quiet laugh.

"Of course. If not they'd think something was wrong" He shrugged and I nodded trying to get rid of the blush that had appeared on my face. "You think you can act the part?" He turned to me, waiting for me to answer. "I mean, you'd have to pretend you are my girlfriend" He teased making me smile.

"Does that mean I have to act annoyed for putting up with you?" I teased back making him shake his head smiling. "You are sleeping on the floor though"

"Hey, who's the hostage again?" He raised an eyebrow and I didn't know whether to smile or not. I know he was being sarcastic but it was true, I was still the hostage but luckily I was treated right.

"Fine, if they have a sofa you can sleep on that" I heard him chuckle as he turned right and pulled into a parking lot. As he parked up he reach in his pocket putting some sunglasses on. He made me put a dress on when we left as well, we definitely looked like we were on holiday.

"Right, just follow my lead" He told me, getting out the car grabbing a bag from the boot. I slowly got out and looked at the hotel. The sign on it said 'The Clifford Hotel' which didn't mean anything to me. "Let's go" Ward whispered in my ear making me jump. He held his arm out and I linked mine with his as we began walking to reception.
