Grant Ward - Prey

Part 14

I was taken back to the Shield HQ where I was taken to a room and questioned by May and Coulson. They asked me how Ward acted, if he hurt or did anything to me. If he said anything about a mission or what he planned to do but he never told me. He put on a disguise with me so I never knew the true him, so he wouldn't give anything away.

"He told me he developed feelings for me" I told them, they looked at each other slowly before returning their piercing stare onto me. "Everything was a lie. He always smiled at me, showed me he cared"

"That doesn't sound like the Ward we knew" Coulson told me and I nodded. He faked everything.

"Before he got away, he told me he'd come back for me but it's how he said it...It was like a promise" I told them and May sighed like she was annoyed at me.

"He never gives up" She shook her head. "He won't get you" It was strange seeing May being nice.

"He said that about Shield getting me"

"I don't think Hunter will let you out of his sight" Coulson smiled and stood up. "I mean that literally" He pointed in the corner of the room where are camera was attached to the ceiling. "Three...two...one" as soon as he hit one Hunter came barging into the room staring at me. I laughed a little as May rolled her eyes at the both of them and walked off.

"I'll leave you to it" Coulson nodded at me and walked off. Was this the part where Hunter says his goodbyes to me? Takes me back home?

"Right, do you want me to show you your room?" He asked and I felt my eyes light up. That feeling was hope. He wanted me to stay.

"My room?"

"Yes. Seems I have to put up with you unfortunatly" He couldn't help but smile as he said it. I stood up and followed him as he walked.

"So I'm staying?"

"Well, yeah. Ward's after you again and I'd be a really bad brother if he does get you again so...You're staying here where I can keep an eye on you"

"I don't mind that" I shrugged as we walked past the laboratory area where Fitz sat looking glum. "Is he okay?"

"He's trying to get his friend back" Hunter whispered. "He'll be fine. Don't worry" He assured me as we walked through another long corridor with doors either side. One door opened and Daisy walked out, as soon as she saw me she came running up to me, pulling me into a big awkward hug.

"I'm so glad you're safe" She whispered in my ear and Hunter stood there awkwardly.

"Daisy I'm showing her where she's staying" He waited impatiently for her to pull away but she didn't.

"She has plenty of time!" She slowly pulled away and stared at me. "How are you feeling?"

"Alot better now I understand what happened. How he did it and how he manipulated me" I whispered and she nodded.

"Well we're all here for you. We won't let him come near you" I nodded at her and started laughing at Hunter who looked extremely impatient now. 

"I better go" She nodded and waved before walking off. Hunter walked forwards a little before opening a door. We both walked in slowly and I smiled. This felt like home, the people, my own room and my brother being here. "Hunter, whilst I'm here, can I train?" I asked and he looked at me surprised.

"Not sure why you need it but okay"

"I need it because I know Ward. He will find me, he will try everything in his power to get me back and when he tries...I'm going to kick his ass"

"You never change" Hunter sighed and nodded. He knew I was right, Ward would eventually find me, I wouldn't be stuck in Shields HQ for the rest of my life. He'd find me and as soon as I see him again I'd be ready. I'd be immune to his manipulation tactics, I'd take him down with the help of Shield, with the help of my new family.  Together, we would all take down Grant Ward once and forall.
