I wake up Friday morning by a loud bang coming from the living room."What the hell?" I quietly say to myself. I walk out of my room and stand in the doorway to the living room. My eyes go wide as I see Carter slammed against the wall by two guys. Carter has a black eye and his lip is split open.
"If you don't pay me within the next twenty-four hours, so help me god, I will kill you in your own house." I hear one of them say to Carter.
"What the hell is going on here?!" I practically yell as I walk into the room over to Carter.
"Nothing Mol, go back-" before Carter can finish his sentence, the guy slams him against the wall again.
"Carter here owes us a shit ton of money." One of the guys says to me.
"Let him go." I firmly say, getting closer to them.
"Ha. What are you going to do?" the one not holding Carter against the wall steps closer to me. He's very tall and I'd say quite intimidating.
"Get the fuck out right now or I'm calling the-" before I can finish my sentence, I feel his hand come in contact with the side of my face, causing me to stumble to the side. "Fuck." I say, running my hand over my face.
"You won't do shit." He says to me.
"You want to bet on that, you little shit?" I say back to him.
"Don't make me hit you again." He threatens me. Before I could even think, my fist comes in contact with his nose, causing it to snap. I was surprised at what I just did. I've been in a few fights before, but never with someone this much bigger than me.
"That's it." he growls at me as his fist comes in contact with my left eye, causing me to fall to the floor.
"Stop! Don't fucking touch her again!" I hear Carter shout at the two men as he punches one of them in the face, causing him to let go of Carter.
I feel one of the men grab me by my arm and lift me to my feet. He holds me against him, holding a knife up to my neck. My breathing speeds up.
"Let her go." Carter says to the man holding me against him.
-Ayden's POV-
By the time I wake up, it's nine. I decide to call Molly to see what she's doing for lunch. I had a great time with her last night. She's honestly not like any other girl I've ever been out with before. She's amazing.
I ring her twice, but she doesn't pick up. I tried texting her a few times, but she didn't reply to those either. I try ringing Carter to see why Molly isn't answering her phone.
"Sorry, Carter isn't available at the moment, please try again later." I hear a man on the other end say into the phone. That's not Carter's voicemail, so I know he's in trouble. What kind of trouble has he gotten himself into now?
I decide to drive over to his house, even though it's only three blocks away. Driving is faster. I try to open the front door, and to my surprise it's unlocked. It's never unlocked. I slowly open it and I see Carter held against the wall by a big, tall man with black hair and many tattoos. I open the door further and I see Molly held against another man with dark brown hair and a shit ton of tattoos as well.
They obviously didn't hear me come in, so I decide to grab a metal thingy from in front of the fire place and sneak up behind the one holding Molly. No one is going to fucking touch her.
As I get close enough, I whack the man on the side of the head, causing him to fall to the ground. Everyone suddenly turns and looks at me.
Molly looks at me with a slightly blackened eye and split lip. Shit. I'm too fucking late.
