Chapter 7

Darius led them into a huge arena. Erin recognized it immediately as a horse arena, where exactly were they? "This," says Darius turning towards them, "is your training arena. Please notice the guards surrounding you. It will be like this 24/7, some have sedation darts, others have bullets. Try to escape and you'll see which one will be shot at you. We finally know what ability all ten of you have. It's time to hone it." "All ten?" Asked Eleanor. "Yes," replies Darius, "that's right ten. No one is dead and you all aren't going to die either. Bring the rest in." Just then the guards come in with Paige, Harry, Zayn, Perrie, and Louis. Louis was being carried by two men, completely unconscious. "You ten will stay in this arena until we are satisfied that you have mastered your abilities. And once you have mastered them you will be set free. However, every time one of you tries to escape it will add six months to your time here. We will have a different obstacle almost everyday for you to defeat or die trying. Understood? We will uncuff you all and Louis will regain conscience in a little bit. But remember what I said about trying to escape." Once Darius and the men filed out of the arena everyone was up crying and hugging, people they thought they would never see again. They were finally all together and for once it was okay in their worlds. Just then the gate at the far end of the arena opens and in come in four lions that start circling them. "Day one," comes Eric's voice over the loudspeaker, "learn how to defend yourselves. Use your gifts. This is for you Eleanor, you threw me up against a wall and your boyfriend is unconscious with four hungry lions coming towards him. Good luck."

They were frozen in place. Only in their wildest dreams would they be kidnapped and then thrown into a cage with lions. Darius had told them what would happen if they tried to escape. But what were their options? To try to escape and get shot and die or to try to fight lions and die. Eleanor ran to Louis, trying to wake him up but nothing worked. The lions were getting closer, focusing on the weakest one. Eleanor gave up and tried pulling Louis to safety. When the lion got closer she shot a blast of air at him that sent it flying across the arena. Liam ran over and threw Louis over his shoulder and carried him close to where everyone else was, "Everybody circle around him, we can do this. We can keep them away. We have to. Look around, we all love each other and we won't forsake Louis. We will win." Everyone circled around Louis and the lions started circling them. Niall created a huge crevasse between the lions and them. Harry started shooting lightening at them. He didn't have very good aim, but he eventually shot one and it dropped, dead. Liam turned into a lion himself and jumped over Niall's crevasse and started fighting with one lion. Snarls and growls filled the air as the two lions fought. It went too quickly, they couldn't even tell which one was Liam anymore. Eleanor jumped over the crevasse using her air bending and sent the two lions flying into the air. When they landed one grabbed the other by the neck and held on until it stopped moving. Liam turned back into himself, covered in blood he turned to his side and threw up, most of what came up was blood. Two down, two to go. Just then one jumped towards Eleanor, she didn't see it coming! She was busy trying to help Liam. Paige teleported in between Eleanor and the lion and landed a kick right to its side that sent it flying across the arena. When they were all experimented on they got slightly better vision than normal humans as well as they were slightly stronger, besides Louis who got much stronger he could could throw a car with one hand. Paige grabbed Eleanor and Liam and teleported them back into the circle. There was one left. Zayn and Danielle stood up. Zayn started shooting fire out of his hands at the lion and Danielle created a water whip to hit it with. There was fire everywhere as Zayn kept shooting at the lion, then Danielle froze it to the ground so it couldn't move. But it was still too dangerous. The lion fought its icey cage and the ice started to crack. Just then Perrie tore a part of the bleachers off the arena with her metal bending and when it flew at the lion it virtually cut it in half. They all sat down after that. What had they done? They weren't monsters...but they would've died.... "Very nice," came Darius' voice over the intercom, "you can have the rest of the day off that was a good show"
