Chapter 22

Harry was walking beside Erin completely frustrated because he wasn't usually like this and he should be able to do what he wants because he did break up with Paige. Except he missed her like crazy and it felt like he really loved her and wanted her back on his life. He was just utterly confused. "You know what, you're an asshole Harry." "Erin, you don't know what's going on and you probably just ruined our greatest chance of finding Darius. Did you even notice anything off about that girl? The way her eyes were the exact same shade of color as her hair. "Well I noticed that  her hair was a really light blonde color." "Yeah. It was. She was changed by Darius just like us and her ability led her to escape their facility. She can make people who look at her forget she was even there. I was flirting with her because she liked me and I need to know where Gemma and now Paige are." He sighed. He had made up his decision. "I regret it Erin. I regret it so much. I miss her and I love her and I should've never said what I said or acted that way. And now I need to find her and tell her this."

It turned out that they didn't need to send a search party or find out here Darius was. Apparently they would be bringing the fight to him. Paige came back. She teleported to Erin but everyone was together trying to find out where Darius could be hiding when she just appeared. She stumbled, her face was pale "Erin, it's horrible" and then she started to cry. Paige stopped when Harry stood in front of her "Where have you been!? You think that you can just wonder off and tell no one where you're going? That's stupid Paige!" 

"Why would you even care Harry?"

Harry just looked at her until he mumbled "I guess I shouldn't.." Paige sucked in a breath and says "okay, everyone listen because its coming and we might not be able to handle it. I found his place its huge, bigger than where we were kept and I got inside I heard what his plans are." "Woah, Paige," Liam said "slow down you're not really making sense." "Okay, I got into Darius' place and he had forty people with abilities! They could shoot acid, one could strengthen people's powers or weaken them, and one could take on the powers other people had! They were fighting...preparing. They all had strange necklace things on. I didn't understand until I saw him. I saw Darius he was talking to, well he was talking to Gemma, he said that they're ready to attack. They're planning it for next week in New York. He's going to bring his army and attack. He wants us to show up, he wants us to be killed because then no one can stop him and he wants to take over the world, starting with the United States." 

"But why was he talking to Gemma about this?" Harry asked

"I was getting to that. I overheard that the necklaces are actually shockers, kind of like Harry's power..whenever he wants he can send a shock to the collars that will kill anyone who defies them, and once they help him take over the United States they'll be set free because he'll make more, tons more and he'll have an army. But Gemma, she..she didn't have a collar on. I got her alone and told her we had to hurry so Darius wouldn't catch us but she wouldn't come." 

"What?? Paige. You don't know what you're talking about! You're just angry that I broke up with you. I can't believe you would stoop that low. She's my sister!"

"Harry...she said that we were liars, that we couldn't be trusted. We never told her that we had abilities, and we never told her that Darius approached us and asked that we let her get a power too. She was practically screaming I told her Darius wasn't to be trusted that he lied and manipulated her but she wouldn't come. She said..that New York will fall and she has bargained for her family's life, your life, but everyone else will perish. And then she sounded the alarm Darius came in the room and I had to go. I am so sorry Harry." 

No one said a word. Everyone just stared at Paige waiting for her to say it was some kind of sick joke. But she didn't take it back. "So," Louis finally said "We have to prepare for a war?" "Yes," Paige answered "and guys I saw at least forty we will have to fight. But they haven't had their powers as long as we have, they're still leaning how to use them. I think we have a chance." Paige could hear everyone in the room thoughts they ranged from 'bring it on,' to 'we don't have a chance.' However, Harry's scared her the worst because he didn't believe a word that she had said. He stood up looked at Paige and said "You're a liar." And walked out of the room.
