I step outside the house, the smell of wet cement filled my lungs. I opened up my umbrella and looked around. The sky was filled with clouds, the sun barely started to shine through, creating small rainbows here and there. I took in a deep breath then exhaled, "Well, here we go." A slight familiarity from these words being whispered to myself. A reminder that I am started another chapter in my book called Life. One that has many words and many chapters, filled with experience and memories, starting from the day I was born until this second. I realize that my world is changing again, in such a short amount of time, I have been changing the world I live in very often. Making big decisions and always moving forward.
You know, I think I like walking in the rain, something about it makes me feel at peace. Maybe it's the sound of the rain hitting the umbrella, or maybe it's the cool temperature or smell that surrounds me? Well, whatever it is, I love it.
I continue walking until I reach a bus stop, I sit under the small roofed enclosure that way I don't have to stand in the rain holding my umbrella. I look off into the distance, seeing the hills and then an idea comes to me, I quickly pull out my journal and start writing. "Living in the mountains is a hard life. You have to hunt for your food, make your own weapons and tools, also you have to make sure you keep warm. Yeah, living in the mountains isn't easy but I sure do love it." I close my journal and smile, "That'll be a good one someday." I see the bus begin to turn the corner so I stand, getting ready to head to my next location. The bus pulls up in front of me and the doors open, I take a step in then pay the fare. Turning to see that most of the bus was empty, since it's still early in the morning. I sit towards the back again and stare out the window, watching the scene change as the bus starts driving, I see the world around me, fading. My eyes slowly closing as the place I have grown so use to turns into a mess of blurred colors, leaving my home once again, finding another place to live.
Am I really ready for this?
The bus continues moving along, my eyes rest for a few minutes. Listening to my surroundings. A twenty minute bus ride, then I push the button to signal my stop. The rain is less intense here but I still open up my umbrella as I exit. I take a step off and look around, noticing the small 'landmarks' I had told myself to memorize so I can find my home. Sure I had the address in my pocket but I didn't want to rely on that, I like to challenge myself, and so I did. Using visual references, I found my way to a beautiful two story home with a sign in the front that marks it has been sold.
The realtor stood at the doorway, "Hello Crystal. You're early." I smile at the man, "It's better to be early than late." The man nods in assent as he hands me the keys to my new home. "Congratulations on your purchase, we hope you enjoy your new house." I smile with a sense of happiness almost blooming out of me. "Thank you very much. I am very grateful." We shake hands and he leaves.
I turn the key to unlock the door and slowly open, excited to see my new home once again. The entrance had a tile landing, on the right there was a place to put shoes, jackets and a chest to place whatever items might be relevant to have near a door. Next to that, stairs that led to the bedrooms, to my left was a hallway that had a closet and a garage door. Towards the end of the hallway, it opened up to what was the area for the living room and from there, on the left, a big window to let in light. On the right side, two sliding doors that separated the dining room and kitchen from the living room. It truly was a beautiful house and I was happy. I called the moving company to bring my items from their storage over to my house. Within the hour, they had came and unloaded all my furniture and miscellaneous household items. Two hours after, they had furnished the inside on both floors. I paid them and they left with a smile because of my tip.
Maybe that was too big of a tip? Hm, well it shouldn't matter. They did a great job, nothing broken and a decent time of completion, so I'm happy.
I made dinner for myself, watched some tv for a while. It started getting dark so I went upstairs to take a nice warm bath to relax. After I dressed in my cute pajamas and sat at my desk.
Alright, let's see if I can get some writing done before it gets really late.
I had a traditional typewriter, it made me feel like I was one of those famous writers that spend lots of time typing and writing great stories at night. I started typing away, the clicks were timed and seemed to follow a rhythm of my slow typing, then a burst of speed as my train of thought grew focus again. The night went on, losing track of time, immersed in this new story that came to me randomly. It was very different but I was really enjoying it and wanted to keep going. It was most likely going to be a short story for now but I could plan on writing it into a full story of it's own. The night went on with more ticks and clicks.

Hey everyone, I know I haven't been updating much of anything recently. You know how life can be sometimes, challenging, pushing us to our limits. We break down, we cry, but the ones around us can be there to wipe away the tears and lift us back up again. Encouraging us to keep going, I try to do that for others because I have never really had someone do that for me until recently. Not trying to get all personal or emotional about this, but I have been struggling. I will try to update more stories and maybe keep up with them. I hope you all have enjoyed this story as much as I have.
