Rain poured down on this lonely night. A mysterious traveler walked in the road, deserted as if none had been through here in years. The hooded figure walked along, contemplating life up to now. A scar visible on the cheek, body shaking and weak from the countless hours of walking all alone. "Rain, lots of rain. I find it slightly annoying that my name means the same thing. I haven't been called Rain in forever though. I ran away, I had to get away from that past life. It was dangerous for me and my family, but my family decided to go another path. So here I am, walking down the empty street, in the rain. All I have is my coat to protect me from the weather. I've been walking for hours, I'm probably going to get sick." Looking up ahead, there was something in the distance, "Wait, is that a house over there? What is that? Well, I guess we're going to find out." The traveler walked on, in search for a shelter. Upon getting closer, it was clear that the building was not a home, the stranger looked into the window and saw a few lights on while a fire was going, yet nobody inside. It seemed as if it was a tavern of some sort, carefully the window was pushed open as the traveler jumped inside, feeling the warmth of the room. Slowly the hood was removed to expose black owl ears on top of a head. They twitched as footsteps were heard upstairs, "Uh oh. I'm not alone." Steps creaking as a rather large grey wolf looking man came down the steps and noticed the female in his tavern. "What are you doing here? And how did you get in?" She felt slightly intimidated by his size but never showed fear. "I needed a place to stay out from the storm. So I came in from the window." The man frowned slightly, "You know, I can alert the authorities for breaking and entering. You can be out of the storm while in jail. What's your name anyway?" The girl looked at him with a feeling of disgust for not caring about her condition. "My name? Well, you can just call me Rain. You don't need to alert anybody, I can pay for any charges or damage I might have caused you." The man raises an eyebrow, "Oh really? Well how about you just work here for let's say a week. That seems fair enough for me, plus it'll give you a place to stay while the storm blows over. It's a win-win scenario." Rain nods, "That does sound promising. I can agree to that then." He smiles, "Great. You'll start work in the morning. I'll brief you on what to do, my partner will give you more details as well. Oh by the way, my name is Blaidd." He motioned her to follow him, "The living quarters are upstairs, you'll find bathrooms up there as well, if you wish to shower, I could provide you with a towel." Rain nodded once more, "A shower will be splendid." Blaidd opened a cabinet near the bathroom and handed her a soft towel then left back downstairs as Rain went into the bathroom, undressed and started to shower. At that moment, Alani came into the tavern front door. "Hey Blaidd, I'm here early." She pecked his lips and smiled. Blaidd held her close, "We got a new employee, might be only temporary though. She's probably in the shower by now, she wanted to get out of the storm, her name is apparently Rain." Alani laughed, "Well that sure is a strange name yet ironic cause the storm." They stayed by the fire to keep warm and a few moments later, Rain came downstairs with her hair slightly damp and noticed the two by the fire. "Is this your partner?" Alani stood up and sized Rain, "Yes. This is my boyfriend and boss, Blaidd Llwyd. You should have at least knocked instead of breaking in, but anyway, I'll tell you about work." About five minutes go by of explaining which Rain understood fairly easily. They all agreed to be mutual towards each other and said goodnight, Blaidd had shown Rain where she'd be sleeping for the time she remained there at his tavern. It was a simple little place that was both cozy and calm, Alani just had a bit of an attitude which irked Rain but she could get over it. Rain got comfortable and fell asleep for the night, feeling glad she wasn't out in the streets for once. The night was quiet, only for the sound of raindrops hitting the window which made the atmosphere seem peaceful. Chilly but otherwise a nice condition for Rain.
