Both of us enjoyed our food immensely, course it was just a small snack - shut up whatever thought you are thinking, I liked to be a chute - but it was nice to taste something edible outside of the house for once because normally, when I ordered food I would always end up with the luck of ordering the one thing of the whole menu that would make me feel sick. I truly had some kind of pull for things like that. Time flew by after that, we packed our things, me being nervous about HIM showing up the whole time. He hadn't seen me in a bikini yet, which I was both grateful and sad about, yeah don't tell me, he did some funny stuff to my head.

Naturally, I did not want to show her that, but Elise, having her instinct, did not believe my act one second, we blundered on about the weather our plans and I found out that Cillian lived in a town near me. Devin said we would meet in an hour, so as the clock turned one we strode out of the pool area, bumping right into Devin.

Literally.

I was too busy handling my bag, stuffing my towel in while we were walking, therefore I didn't see him crossing the lot, I crashed headfirst into his chest, he absorbed the impact my taking a step back, which almost made me lose my footage and my bag, but he wrapped an arm around my waist pulling me even closer. I won't deny that I lingered longer than it lasted for a thought to occur me, I scrambled out of his arms, screeching,"You walked into me on purpose didn't you??"

The crinkling of his eyes was all it took, I pounded on his chest - "Gosh. I could have fallen down, you idiot."

He let me pound him, but after a few hits he closed his hands around mine, stopping all my efforts, whispering, "I wanted to touch you without making it too obvious." Innerly my heart gave a kick, my demeanour melted away, instead of gushing all over him, I stuck to glaring, but mumbling, "you could have simply asked, idiot."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Elise trying to hide her laugh, but failing miserably. In the end, she gave in to it and doubled over with laughter the same moment Devin did. The cackled like some chicken who just got their food spread in front of them. "You. ... Are.. Simply amazing...", he wheezed out. Great, now they were they laughing at ME? He was the one bumping into me on purpose!

Elise truly had changed sides, turning angry about the thought was not an option, it rather made me chuckle – she was old enough to tease me, I didn't mind.  My laughter bubbled out of my throat without reason. We were a contagious bunch of people. Our laughing caught attention, a few bystanders stopped to smirk, others walked by flipping us the bird and some people called us ‚crazy youth nowadays'. They apparently forgot that Elise was with us.

After a few minutes – and pains in the stomach – later, we managed to catch our breaths again and returning to being our normal selves. Ha. As if. "I tried normal once, but it got boring, so I got back to being me" is a quote which suits me quite fine.

"I am going home now, preparing something for dinner or walking the streets, I will see you later, dear." the oldest friend of mine said. She winked, took the bags in her hand, forcing my bag out of my hand, when I told her I was perfectly capable of handling it myself, she explained it as "You need your hands-free." move. I swear her eyes twinkled when the words left her mouth. My mind tried to ignore her as best as I could, but I let her have her way. Devin was at my side, staying at a distance but still close enough I was able to feel the heat his body radiated.

"So. Now we are alone. No orange juice around on which you can slip on, no rose I can tuck into your back pocket and no phone call disturbing us." He showed me his turned off phone, "Perfect. Let's go."
