  Red and Blue only use 37 completely unique sound clips for cries. The sounds are played back in different ways for each Pokemon. For example, Rhyhorn and Charizard's cries sound similiar. Caterpie and Goldeen have the exact same cry.Scyther and Seaking have the similar cry.
