It was a very sunny day for the rainforest. At first, Startraveler thought that there was something wrong with the trees. Then she realized that it was just her eyes. It wasn't very sunny; in fact, it actually was raining. Occasionally, a drop or two at a time hit her snout like they did every time it rained. But, she was grateful for it. Startraveler loved the rainforest; after all, she did hatch there. The NightWings were complaining, as always, about how terrible having a RainWing as a queen was. But soon after they were finished, they were grateful that Queen Glory at least let them live in the rainforest. They thought about how they could've been outcasts, living in danger of being killed or dying of starvation. Or possibly all dead, killed by Queen Glory. Huh. I guess that only I know that Glory wouldn't ever kill any dragons, not unless she felt her life was in danger, or she was really angry. "Startraveler! Come get breakfast!" Startraveler sauntered over to where her mom and food was. Today they were having fruit, as always. Startraveler was a little annoyed, but it didn't bother her too much. "So, Startraveler, if you could eat meat, would you want to?"

"What do you mean, mother?" She had never thought about that. But now that she did, she guessed maybe. "Well, I'm just saying, I could teach you how to hunt."

"Umm... Not really, I guess" She ate and then went to the quicksand pit to see Mastermind. She had always wanted to take after him and be the most brilliant mind the tribe has ever seen. Even though he wasn't her father, Startraveler always thought of him that way. He was encouraging and funny, and those were the aspects of a father according to Startraveler. "Why hello, Startraveler! How are you this morning?"

"I'm doing great! How are you? Besides being in the quicksand pit, of course."

"Not bad, but the pit you get used to. The RainWing guards usually remember to pull me out so I don't have to rely on you."

"All right, three things. One, that was a bad day for the guards and you, two, I did good at pulling you out, and three, I have another question for you."

"Go ahead, ask away."

"Well, is it true that NightWings use to bite their prey and then wait a little while till it died?"

"Yes, actually. But I highly doubt that you have developed that ability."

"NightWings develop that?"

"Oh, yes. Well, that's my son's theory anyways."

"Starflight?"

"Who else could it be?"

"Interesting," Startraveler said thoughtfully. Mastermind chuckled. "That sure sounds like something I would say," he said suspiciously.

"Thanks."

"For what?"

"For everything." And with that, she jumped into the tree tops.
