"Mother!" Azure ran to her, but Stingray stepped in front of Azure and bent down to see if their mother was still alive. He turned back around, sorrow in his eyes as he shook his head. Azure bent her head and started to cry. "First father, then mother! Why does the world hate me?!"
"I can't answer that question, but I can say that that was RainWing venom you shot."
"I didn't mean to kill her! I didn't even know that she was behind you, or-wait, did you say RainWing venom was what killed her? I'm part RainWing?! Why didn't you tell me sooner?! We could've avoided this if you had just told me that!"
"Azure, mother told me that you were part RainWing just before she went to go get breakfast. I never had time to tell you."
"You could've told me when mother was getting food for us!"
"Not then! You were too busy calling me seaweed face! And on other circumstances that would have been funny right about now. But it's not."
"What about right after we ate?! Before I challenged you to charades?!" Stingray hissed and Azure hissed back, but again, the noise wasn't coming directly from her; it was coming from her fangs. Stingray lifted his wing, moved his head, and closed his eyes and mouth just in time. It hit him and his scales started melting and turning black where the venom had hit him. "Stingray!" Azure ran to him and slid her back under his side so she could carry him to where she needed to go. She had a plan. And no one could stop her.
