Zane (Pov)

Pain. Pure, undying pain all over. I could tell one of my legs were broken but there's something else, it felt like fire dancing over my right side, pain seeping throughout the area. What happened after I blacked out?

I slowly opened my eyes to reveal a very worried set of people, mainly Garroth, Aphmau, and Travis? My gaze shifted towards my right and all I saw was bandages, I looked back over to them noticing Garroth's shoulder in a sling.

"Okay, he's awake can we leave and get dinner already," a very agitated Katelyn said. I heard someone yell but I couldn't quite hear it. Garroth's shaky, sorrowful voice finally spoke up.

"Katelyn, just leave if you're gonna act like this," a tear slid down his face, "Zane, after you were shot a bomb activated near you. I-it gave you second and third degree burn on your right side and y-your gonna n-need a hearing aid for your right ear," he said as he went into a sob, "I'm s-sorry."

This was even breaking my heart and I don't have one. It's not his fault homophobic people bombed and gunned down a parade of people. "Garroth, listen to me. There is and was nothing you could have done to prevent this. You shouldn't feel guilty, you've done nothing. Come on do you want a hug?," I said. Everyone looked at me like I was a five year old's art project, confused as hell. Garroth came over and hugged me, I may not like hugs I knew he needed this.

"I'm sorry, but it passed visiting hours for those that are not admitted to the hospital. You can come back at 7 tomorrow but you have to leave now," a nurse said ushering them out. Soon a familiar face appeared at the doorway, it was Tom.

"Hey, Zane. How you feeling?," Tom asked adjusting on his crutches.

"Not dead, the pain is numbing down. Did anything get you and Sparklez?," (yes SyndiSparklez) I asked the blue haired man. I saw every ounce of joy slip into sadness.

"Sparklez was pretty hurt. He was protecting one of the younger teens during it, he's alive just I'm not gonna hear his beautiful voice for a long time. So sad too, it was both of your guys' first time in the parade," he said on the verge of tears. No, they were literally the cutest couple I've ever seen, EVER.

"Well, I'll see you again soon, I gotta go back to my room. Bye Zane," Tom waved before leaving, alone with just my thoughts for the rest of the night.
