Chapter 1: Catching Up

Sandy's POV

It's been two years since we all left little leaf other than Amanda, my mom Janet and I never ended up going to my grandmas in California, we moved to Seattle, we now owned an apartment. We were all 16, Jared was 17, and Janet was 13 now.

Matt and I tried a long distance relationship, but it never worked out and we ended up breaking up after four months.

The groupchat lasted 7 months, then everyone left it. Of course I still kept in contact with them all, just not all together.

My phone went off.

Amanda 💋 has added Sandy ✨ to the chat
Amanda 💋: Ok this is everyone.
Matt 📿: What's this for?
Amanda 💋: Remembrance Day plans.
Henry 🌪: Isn't this next week?
Becca 🔥: Henry do you want me to get you food I'm at Wendy's
Henry 🌪: YES
Sandy ✨: When there's no Wendy's in Seattle 🌚
Jared 😒 has left the chat
Amanda 💋 has added Jared 😒 to the chat
Jared 😒: seriously leave me alone

Matt 📿: what's his problem
Amanda 💋: who knows, anyways I figured we'd get balloons with letters on them standing for who we lost, and release them into the sky by the town pond.
Sandy ✨: sounds good

Now there was one more thing I had to do.

Sandy ✨: hey, you coming to the remembrance? They won't mind.
Brooke 🌙: yeah haha, thanks for inviting me, she just meant a lot to me and I want to be there when you guys honor her.

Jared's POV
I haven't been on any of the talk shows like the others. I don't want anything to remind me of that, I'm going to that stupid Remembrance Day for one reason, Kelly. After that I'm done talking to them, and I'm joining the army to help track down the terrorist group who killed Kelly, it's gonna require me to lie about my age, but if that's what it takes, I'll do it.

Amanda's POV

Matt and I were making out, like hardcore making out. And it was great, Matt lives two hours away, so I see him once a week. Last week we talked about, you know, doing it, I've been ready for a while now, and he said he was ready too, he said he wanted his first to be with me, and I told him the same.

I couldn't help but smile.

He pulled away and looked at me and smirked.

"Why are you smiling?" He asked me as I thought for a second.

"Because We're about to f*ck." I said putting my hands on his shoulders and pulling him back on me. I took off my shirt and so did he, that's when he took out protection.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked me.

I nodded my head and him and I kissed some more.

Matt's POV

I don't know how I feel about Amanda currently, and no I didn't just talk to her just for sex, her and I have been dating for a few months now, and she's wanted to do it, I did it to make her happy, I didn't fully want to do it, but I did it for her.

"They'll be coming in tomorrow, can you go get the balloons for it?" Amanda asked as I nodded my head and got up. I grabbed my car keys and got in my car. I drove to the store and started looking for balloons.

It was the party aisle, when I turn to my right and see three people, two guys and a girl. One of the guys had white hair, which I've never seen before. They looked to be my age, and the girl turned around and saw me looking at them.

She and the two guys walked over to me as I bought balloons with letters on them.

"You look familiar...." The girl said squinting at me.

"Weren't you kidnapped by terrorists?" The dirty blonde one asked as I slowly nodded my head.

"That was two years ago though, that's over." I said turning back around.

"I remember watching all the news reports on you, it must have sucked, and all the people who died.... Is there anything we can do?" The white haired one asked.

"We're having a Remembrance Day tomorrow night at the pond and 9 PM tomorrow, if you want you can come, just please don't tell anyone, it's supposed to be a small thing." I told them.

"Thank you, we'll be there, I'm Alicia by the way." The girl said. She was very tan and had dark brown hair.

"Matt." I said as the white haired one introduced himself as Ian and the dirty blonde one was Jake.

Henry's POV

"Babe don't worry, I know you're still scared of planes but nothing's gonna happen on planes ever again." I told Becca trying to calm her down.

"We never should have agreed to come to this, we could be at home right now cuddling up on the couch watching movies while my parents went out to dinner." Becca grounded.

Since both of my parents are dead, Becca's parents offered to let me live at their house until college started, and I accepted.

"It's just, kinda sad. Amanda's living in the past, if she didn't want to do this remembrance thing, then it wouldn't happen, I mean yeah everyone we lost matters but we don't need to bring back the pain of losing them all over again." Becca told me.

"Hello passengers I hope you're all enjoying your flight today, we will start our descent into Pheonix Arizona in 10 minutes!" The captain said as Becca sighed of relief.

"I hate planes" Becca said as someone walked by to use the bathroom.

Becca's POV

It was 7:09 when we rang Amanda's doorbell, waiting for the excitement of seeing everyone again.

Amanda opened up the door and hugged us both, when we got inside Matt and Sandy were already here.

"Becca! Henry!" Sandy and Matt called running over to us.

"I haven't seen you guys in so long, how are you?" She asked.

There was someone else in the room I didn't notice at first. She was blonde.

The doorbell rang again and Jared was standing with three others.

"Who are they?" Jared asked as soon as the door opened.

"That's Ian Jake and Alicia, I invited them." Matt said as everyone looked at Matt confused.

"What? Sandy invited Brooke!" Matt said defending himself.

"Yeah but Brooke is Bella's cousin, these three have no relation to us, but I guess they can stay." Amanda said.

"Wait you're Bella's cousin, like, THE Bella who attempted to kill me?" Henry asked Brooke.

"Yeah, I'm uh, sorry about that. But just so you know I'm nothing like her, I just wanted to meet you guys, since you were the last ones to talk to her." Brooke said and looked at Ian.

"Nice hair." She said to him as he nodded towards her and winked.

"Well, let's get this Remembrance Day on." Jared said unenthusiastically.
