The ten of us, everyone other than Jared, ran over to the man who was shot. We pushed through the crowd of people surrounding him.

"Back up! Make room for them!" Jake shouted to everyone, he kept having everyone take a couple of steps back.

When I reached him, Becca and Matt were already putting pressure on his gunshot wound.

"Sandy, Brooke, come put pressure on the wound, Matt and I need to turn him to see if there's an exit wound or not!" Becca called to us.

Brooke and I did as she did, Becca's Mom is a nurse, so it makes sense that she knows what she's doing.

Becca looked at the small hole on the mans back. "There's an exit wound. He should be ok." Becca stated to us.

I heard footsteps behind me.

I saw someone walking up to us to my right, and when I looked up I saw Marco holding a gun.

He pointed it at the mans head and shot almost instantly.

"Let this be an example, don't disobey." He stated before walking back into the town hall, which was his new home.

I looked over at Brooke, who's face was a ghostly white. Her mouth was hanging open.

"Close your mouth, Brooke, bugs are gonna fly in." Henry said sighing.

"Oh my god..." Ian muttered as Alicia fell to her knees with tears in her eyes.

Jake threw up, and Janet had to look away.

Jared stood up from next to the man. "Tragic." He said as he walked back into the house.

"What's for dinner?" Amanda asked Matt as the two of them followed Jared back.

"How are you guys just... fine?" Jake asked us as he ate his spaghetti.

"What about?" Henry questioned as he looked out the window at the empty streets.

"The man that Marco killed right in front of us." Jake responded surprised that Henry didn't know what he was referring to.

"I've killed someone before, I've watched my friends die right in front of me. There was this 11 year old girl trapped on the plane with us named Kylie, her and I were stranded in Africa together. I saved her life, she saved mine. I felt responsible for her. When the terrorists kidnapped all of us in the jungle, I had to watch as that amazing little girl was hung right in front of me while I was forced to watch. I watched my Dad commit suicide, Sandy killed Gupta, Jared watched his girlfriend Kelly die in his arms, Amanda watched our friend Justin and a bunch of other kids get blown up in Australia, we watched Brooke's cousin Bella be ripped apart by a shark, we watched our friend Cole get shot right in front of us, we saw a woman burn to death, Matt was next to this nine year old named Derrick when he was shot in the head. That's not even the half of it. We aren't phased by this." Henry said as the room fell silent.

"We need a plan." Alicia said staring into her bowl of now cold noodles.

"What kind of plan?" Matt asked her.

"One to save this town, to get rid of the terrorists." Alicia said to us.

"How can we do that? They have this town surrounded, the military hasn't shown up yet, who knows when they will." Jared countered.

"We can't, but we can't do nothing." Alicia stated angrily.

"Watch me." Becca said as she stretched out on the couch and closed her eyes.

It was about nine at night and there was a knock at the door.

"Who could it be?" Janet asked us.

"A neighbor?" Ian replied hopefully.

"At nine pm?" I responded.

Jared got up and walked to the door. Without hesitating he flung open the door. "What?" He asked Marco harshly.

"Is anyone here part of the LGBT community?" Marco asked.

I looked around the room, and saw Ian looking directly at Jake.

"Yeah... why?" Jake responded hesitantly.

Marco signaled to the two terrorists behind him, and they walked into the house and picked Jake up.

Everyone started screaming at them, but Marco pulled out a gun, and everyone stopped as Jake was carried out of the house kicking and screaming.

"The corrupt must be contained, we can't have disease spreading through our community. They will be held in the old orphanage." Marco explained before shutting the door behind him.

"Are you kidding me? Corrupt? Jake isn't corrupt, he's my best friend. If he's corrupt then so am I." Ian exclaimed angrily.

"Jake's part of the LGBT community?" Amanda asked Ian.

"Jake is transgender, he used to be Jacquelyn but his parents supported him and paid for an operation when he was 14." Ian explained.

Wow, now I'm glad I didn't say anything about how I'm bisexual, no one knows anyways but at least I wasn't taken because I knew well enough to keep my mouth shut.

Matt's POV

It was past eleven, but I couldn't sleep. I decided to take a walk to the memorial.

I sat down in front of it.

"Hey." Alicia said, causing my heart to skip a beat.

"Oh, hey." I responded.

She sat next to me. "How'd you know I was out here?" I asked her.

"I didn't, I was just going for a walk and I saw you." She said to me.

I was looking at the memorial.

Rest In Peace, Beloved.

Bella DeRotral
Cole Gurtt
Justin Furgblow
Kelly Sarris

Reading their names made me think of each of their deaths, the only one I didn't watch die we Justin, and he was my best friend. I didn't get to say goodbye to my best friend, I didn't get to see him before he died.

"I'm really sorry for what you guys had to go through." Alicia said putting her hand on my back.

Amanda walked over and sat next to us.

Alicia took a hint that we needed to talk, and she politely got up to let us.

"Amanda, I'm sorry but with everything going on I don't have time for a relationship right now. I know we had sex, but there's already so much stress and I don't need a relationship to cause even more." I said to her, my heart beating quicker.

"That's exactly what I came out here to say." Amanda told me, smiling because we were on the same page.

I felt bad lying, but I couldn't tell her that I wasn't sure of which girl I liked. Amanda and I have an amazing connection that formed over the past year, but with Sandy returning it brought back a lot of thoughts and feelings, and when I first saw Alicia I couldn't help myself from staring at her.

I don't know what I'm gonna do.
