Nobody moved, it was like everyone was frozen in time. I looked around at everyone; eyes darted back and forth frantically.
I saw Matt mouthing to Alicia "don't make a noise." Alicia nodded.
We all were standing still, our eyes had landed on the front door, which is where the knocking came from.
Without warning the door was kicked in and five people with guns stormed into the house shouting in some language that no one could understand.
After they had all pointed their guns at us and gotten us to put our arms where they could see them, another man walked into the house.
It was Marco, the translator from The Plane.
I couldn't believe this. It was Marco. Marco! He was the only one who could understand us, it made sense for him to be here, but why was he here? Hasn't he learned that we just bring death and destruction to everything we touch?
"Hello again, I see that you six have made some new friends. Meanwhile, so have I. Ever since you killed Gupta, my army has been growing, over the past two years I have dedicated my life to finishing Guptas mission, getting rid of you all. However, I'm not a sadistic bastard like him. I'm more of one. Your town will follow our rules, you will listen to our authority, and you will all realize that joining us is the only correct way to life." Marco said to us.
With that, Marco and the other terrorists left Amanda's house.
"Now, I still have respect for you strong children." Marco said as he quietly shut the door.
After he left, Becca broke down into tears.
Henry crouched down next to her and put his hand on her back.
Becca was on her knees with her head on the ground, sobbing.
I've never seen someone so full of strength and self confidence break down like this.
I looked around. Jared stood there staring off into space, he looked as empty as usual.
Brooke, Ian, Alicia, and Jake were petrified. Their faces were almost as white as Ian's hair.
Janet was sad, looking at me. We made eye contact. She was scared, scared for herself, for me, scared for the world.
Matt was sitting on the ground with his knees up and his arms around them staring off like an edgy teen, and Amanda was hitting the wall angrily while she was silently crying.
We're weak. All of us are weak. I'm weak, we were all hanging onto the past.
None of us had been able to move on even after two years, we were all stuck back there in that jungle, on that plane. We were still in cages, but no one could see them.
There's no way we would be able to defeat them. Part of me just wanted to go out there and start hitting, they'd shoot me and then everything would be over.
Another part of me wanted to stay here and let everything happen, I was tired of fighting.
The biggest part of me knew that neither of those were options, I knew that the only thing we can actually do is to fight.
"Guys." Alicia said to us.
Nobody looked over at her.
"Guys!" Alicia yelled stomping her foot.
Everybody looked at her. "Are you all just gonna give up and let them take over? I mean, you've all been through so much, if anyone can do it it's you guys." Alicia said to us.
"That's the problem, we've been through too much, not so much. Sandy, Matt, Becca, and Henry have been through more than all of us and I can't even handle going through it a second time." Amanda said in between sobs.
"One last time. Resist them one, last, time." Ian said stepping up to Amanda.
"Why?" Matt asked quietly.
"Because this whole town is looking up to the six of you, you're the only people who have been through this. Without you six all of us are lost." Jake said. I was surprised, it was one of the only things he's said all night.
I made eye contact with Janet. "Please." She said to me.
I felt everyone's eyes move to me.
"Yes." I barely said.
The only reason I said yes was because of Janet. If I gave up, what would that show her? She's 13 now, the age of my first tragedy. Why does history repeat itself? Why do I have to experience so much pain? She's the only reason I'm fighting, I can't leave her alone in this town being controlled by the most barbaric of people.
Janet smiled, and soon after that Henry said yes, then Matt and Becca. Amanda was next, and Jared didn't say anything. All he did was nod his head after rolling his eyes.
Him and I used to be so close, we all used to be so close. I always thought we'd all stay in contact, but I guess seeing them reminds me of everything all over again. It kind of sucks, they're all amazing in their own ways, it's just too much for me to handle at points.
Suddenly, the noise of people screaming angrily filled the house.
"What's happening?" Brooke asked nervously.
"I think they're resisting." Henry said looking through the window.
"Oh my god!" Ian yelled as he ran outside.
"Ian you dumbfuck!" Amanda yelled running after him and tripping over the rug.
"Oof."
The rest of us quickly followed, and we all saw why Ian ran outside.
The terrorists had already put up a chain linked, barb wired fence that surrounded the time over the past two hours that we've been crying.
"We could have been helping, but instead you were all feeling sorry for yourselves." Jared said turning around and bumping into my shoulder as he walked into the house.
When he bumped into my shoulder it hurt me. Not physically, but every other way possible.
"Let him go." Brooke said rubbing my back.
People in the town were screaming at the terrorists, and suddenly a glass bottle was flung at the terrorists.
It hit one of them on the shoulder, and they immediately turned to the person who threw it and shot him.
The whole town screamed and ran all over, it was pure pandemonium.
"Sandy, we have to help him." Henry said to me.
At first I was confused as to why he cared so much, but then I remembered how Henry had to watch his father commit suicide on the cruise.
"Brooke, can you take Janet inside so she doesn't get hurt?" I asked her. She nodded.
"No!" Janet yelled to me.
This caught everyone's attention
"You were thirteen and you survived a sinking ship when no one else was trying to help you, I can handle walking through a hectic group of people." Janet said, obviously annoyed.
"Fine." I said. The ten of us ran over to the man who was shot.
