I had to admit that I lied when I said to everybody that I was with an allergy attack when I was actually trying to hide my crying the day Rose and Hugo left. It was even worse when I found out Alby was going back to Durmstrang...It just didn't feel right to be at Hogwarts without my two brothers... And Teddy was as absent as if he wasn't there, even Vic complained about it.
Roxy, Malfoy, and James though, wouldn't let me alone for five minutes! They all, lucky for me, improved a lot in the feeding-me part so I would usually get only my upper body spilled with food. I even received this muggle game from this second-year girl called "Sudoku" and got addicted to it. Combining all the medicines that made me fall asleep every three hours I think I can say that weeks went by really fast.
In one rainy day, by the end of October, Malfoy was annoying me again when ms. Pomfrey came inside my blue, curtain-made walls around my bed. As practical as always she immediately started talking. "Mrs. Potter..." but with some weeks of training, I learned how to interrupt: "Come on! Call me Lilly! How many times will I need to ask you?", she frowned then rolled her eyes in annoyance, " Alright, alright! Lillian Potter, I am here to bring you and your boyfriend updates related to your health. I don't have much time so, shall we?" I was about to say 'yes' when I realized what she said. Apparently, Malfoy did too. "She/he is not my boy/girlfriend!" we said together, then stared at each other in surprise. It was a really weird situation so I quickly turned back to Madame.
"Well, let's say that you are pretty much cured. One night of stimulators and tomorrow will be moving as if nothing had even happened to you. I can't wait to see you and the other Potter out of my Hospital Wing!" The nurse said and walked away, without leaving time for any answer. I was obviously very happy, I couldn't wait to be able to do stuff I wanted without having to ask... How would it feel to run through the Hogwarts gardens for the first time? And to investigate every single part of this castle, just like my Grandpa did...
The day before was really nice, I mean, it was pretty much a normal day with James and Malfoy taking turns. But I felt like a little bird, waiting until it could fly. It took a while for me to fall asleep, though... I was way too anxious...But when I did, I slept like a baby and woke up with pale hands flicking its fingers in front of my face. "What?" I asked annoyed and half asleep. How come Scorpius can be that much annoying? He literally managed to be the first thing I saw in that day... "Wake up! Today is the day, come on!" He answered, walking away and starting to close the curtains around my bed, "Get dressed, tomorrow you're going to have your first school day, we must enjoy all we can today". 'Yeah, my first school day in mid-November!' I thought sarcastically. He looked at me with waiting eyes and I sighed, knowing that I wouldn't get any piece...
Inhaling deeply again I try to sit myself up and, for the first time in weeks I managed to move significantly. I laugh at how happy I am feeling, over something so simple as sitting down.
A couple of hours later, I could surely tell that the stimulator kicked in. I was myself again! James and I were about to go to the quidditch fields, each of us carrying our brooms, the same ones we practically threw a fit to get before the year started.Walking through the grass, I felt the weak sunray's against my face accompanied by the harsh and cold wind as if warning the soon arrival of the winter. It was Friday late morning, people sat and hung out on the bleachers around the oval field. I looked around and recognized a few people but didn't really mind their presence. I was too busy admiring the atmosphere. I could feel the enthusiasm caused by the game, the adrenaline and the joy. I imagined all the seats filled with people, eager to watch a quidditch match. "Ready?" James' voice cut through my thoughts. I grinned and quickly hopped onto my broom, disappearing out of sight.
Up in the air, in between a very peaceful and dangerous in James' opinion, to ruin my happiness, my old roommates and some other Slytherins appeared thinking they owned the field. And let me remind you, I had been stuck in a bed for two months! "Look who decided to show up" spat Alexander Krum with his usual rudeness. "Who? The Easter Bunny?" I asked sarcastically. We were up in the air, casually discussing. A girl first year nearby him chuckled but quickly hid her mouth with her pale hands when received a death glare from Krum. "What are you guys doing here, anyway? The field wasn't booked by anyone, my brother checked it himself" I blurted, "Nothing that matters to you Potter but since you've asked so kindly I'll answer" Alexander said cockily as always, "A couple first years and I are trying to practice since the trials for the team are next week, but of course you appeared" he finished. "Don't worry, I won't kick your ass on the field today. You can continue showing off the abilities you believe to have, I'll be up and behind the three goals," I said, then turned around to find James.
.............
We were playing our version of "hide-n-seek" where I told Krum we were going to be. The game only works if you're a chaser or beater which explains why Alb never liked to play back at the summers we spent at The Burrow. The person with the Quaffle has to, basically, try to disappear from sight and drop the ball. The other player has to be fast enough to find it and fetch it. It was 5x9 for me and I was determined to keep winning. About half an hour later, the girl that had chuckled before flew towards us. "Wait... I know that girl!" said James heading her direction, "do you?" I asked following him. When we were close enough to see her face I as well recognized her...from somewhere I could not remember. It was driving me crazy but thankfully she spoke; "Can I help you?" I and James glanced at each other realizing we were both still and not saying anything. "Yes actually," started James, "Are you Alice's sister?". The what seemed tall girl looked at us and answered, "Perhaps. Who wants to know?". My head was working, Alice? The only Alice I knew about was... ALICE WOOD! My brother's crush and best friend! I had seen a picture of her hidden inside his drawer at home a couple years ago!
I dig into all the information he had given me about her, all the stories he had told me. "You're Meg Wood aren't you?" I said, "Yeah, and you're the bad ass girl who kicked Krum's Bulgarian butt a while ago aren't you?" Meg said. I smirked shyly and nodded. "I'm Lilly Potter by the way" I presented myself, "Nice to meet you and please, tell your dad he's a heck of quidditch player!" she commented, "No, tell your dad he's a heck of a player" I joked, remembering the stories my dad told me about his first year. "I'm going to leave you girls with...whatever you're doing. Lilly after, go to my common room. We need to talk about some stuff" James said before heading down and holding the quaffle.
