The only species is Carnotaurus sastrei. the name Carnotaurus means "meat-eating bull", alluding to its bull-like horns. Carnotaurus is a derived member of the Abelisauridae, a group of large theropods, but it is one of the weakest theropods, smaller than the T. rex and the Allosaurus, but is bigger than Ceratosaurus. It is still a formidable foe and a dangerous predator.
