He was a wizard. Taylor. I couldn't believe it.
"Girls! Taylor! Diiner's ready!" Mum called out.
"Yes mum! We're coming!" Lily said happily.
"We're coming, Auntie!" Taylor said happily. I didn't say anything.
After we ate our dinner, Dad told us to go and play.
"Oh, please! Mum, can Taylor and Auntie Emma stay over?" Lily asked really sweetly.
"Of course they can, it was planned already." Mum smiled.
"Thank you mum!" Lily said happily.
All three of us went to the veranda. I loved this place. It was peaceful and hardly any one came here, except Mum, but only about once a week, to water the plants; and just make sure the garden looked immaculate.
"Um... guys one minute; like, I'm bursting!" Lily said, her face red.
"Bursting to what?" Taylor asked blankly. Even I have to admit, boys can be pretty... well the only word for it is stupid.
"To pee!" She said and ran out of the veranda; leaving us alone.
"So... yah." Taylor said. God, this was going to be awkward.
"Yeah..." Even I didn't have anything rude or witty to say, but then, I guess that even if I did, I wouldn't have said anything to him.
"So, how do you feel about Lily moving?" He asked the worst question he could have possibly asked. Were all boys that unintelligent? Or was it true that you couldn't have everything? If you had looks, would you have to be stupid for the rest of your life? Lily had both. She was an exception, I guess.
"Well, I dunno. I guess I’m happy for her." I didn't know if I was completely lying. Even though I was angry and hurt, there was this feeling that I just couldn't help, I think I kind of really was happy for her. But that happiness wasn't big enough to overpower my hurt ones.
"Don't worry, you'll see her throughout the year." He said kindly and patted me on the back. Even though this was probably nothing, I felt really touched.
"Yeah..." I couldn't think of anything else to say. Where was mean and witty Petunia?
"Nice dress." He said, definitely changing the subject. But... he was also complementing me. No, I told myself, people do that every day, don't go thinking anything else.
"Thank you." I replied anyway, smiling. When was Lily going to come back? Actually, I guess I didn't want her to come back as fast as possible.
"Er... It's getting kinda cold, shall we go inside?" Do all boys change subjects so fast? But I did realize that I was starting to shiver.
"Yeah, let's go." We went to my bedroom, seeing as Dad was in Lily's, running after the cat. What a strange time to wash him. We sat on her bed; and looked awkwardly at each other.
"Hey guys! Oopsy, sorry for disturbing you guys!" Lily came crashing in her room.
"What do you mean, disturbing us? It’s not like we were doing anything." I said venomously. Icily. My rudeness was coming back; I was reassured.
"Okiiiie, no need to kill Petu." I hated, and I mean hated when she called me that.
"Stop. Calling. Me. Like. That!" I said, clenching and unclenching my fists.
"Touchy! Calm down!" She said.
"I am very calm." I bellowed.
"No you're not." She was going to lose all her teeth. Actually, I usually hurt people with my words, not actions. So, she was going to lose all her... happiness. I breathed deeply in. And out. In and out.
"Lily, just leave it ok? It's not like we were doing anything we should be ashamed of. I mean, we were just talking, and we are cousins, after all." Taylor came to my rescue. Yeah, princesses get rescued from dragons and witches; I got rescued from my own sister.
Lily looked, shocked, then slightly hurt. She ran out of her bedroom. That's when I knew she felt the same way I felt towards him. The same ones I did.
She is pretty brave, and she would never have ran away like if someone else had said to her.
