I would really appreciate it if you tell me what you think of my story, comment, vote, fan etc., you get me! ;)

It was the first time anyone had planned a party for me. So, for a little while, I left the mean Petunia; smiled, and acted grateful.

"Wow, thanks!" I said. Happily. This felt pretty weird.

"You're very welcome, Petunia. We just thought you were really sad, so we thought this might cheer you up." My dad said. Ah, so at least someone realised that I was 'really sad'. Now, it was Lily who seemed sad. She was used to getting all the attention she needed, and more than that. So when I got a little attention for once, she wasn't happy. And do you know what? I actually felt a little sorry for her. Not for the fact that she was unhappy right now; but because she practically lived on attention. I was hardly ever given a second thought, and even though I'm not the happiest of all people, I live with it.

"Lily dear, what's wrong?" Asked my mum.

"... Nothing..." She replied. I guess we are a little alike, then. Both trying to hide our sadness from others.

"Of course something is wrong. People are not just sad like that."

"Well, I am." She said and walked away to the other end of the living room to throw herself on a sofa.

Mum sighed. She looked at Lily, was about to go to her, then thought better of it and went to Taylor. They started talking, laughing and smiling.

Lily saw Mum with Taylor, and got angrier. She took a vase from the table. She held it up for a moment, seeming to hesitate as to whether she should throw it or not. She decided she thought she should and she smashed it on the floor.

"Lily! What did you do?" My mum asked, quite surprised. She had got the attention she wanted.

"I smashed the vase." She said defiantly.

"I know, but why?" My mum asked, a little irritated now.

"Well, you asked me what I did, not why." Mum looked like she was about to slap her, but she glanced at Auntie Emma and thought better of it. Mum and Dad had never slapped us. Yes, perhaps a small slap on he butt to scare us when we were little, but they had never truly hurt us.

"Watch the way you speak, young lady. Now, why did you just throw that vase?" All her working years as a teacher showed in her strict voice.

"I... just felt like it."

"Why did you 'feel like it'?" Mum demanded.

"It's just... I was feeling like no one cared about me... and this was the only way to make you se that I'm still here." Huh. You don't see me smashing vases everyday.

"Aww, of course we care about you. Come here." Mum completely fell for it and hugged Lily. Huh, I was starting to think that maybe she wouldn’t get any attention, but hey, she’s Lily after all. She gets all the attention she wants.

While hugging Mum, Lily cocked her head to the right, looked at me and smiled that fake, far too sweet smile she has. Mum started talking to her, and everyone was surrounding Lily, talking to her, trying to cheer her up.

This was supposed to be my party. See what happens when I let the bitter Petunia go?

I silently walked out of the living room and went to the veranda. I sat down on the white chair and opened the windows, letting the fresh air in. I was so sad, so annoyed, so angry; I didn't even know what to do. I just sat down and just... thought. I thought about how life was unfair. Everyone says life is unfair, but why that unfair? Why was it only unfair to certain people? Some had everything they need, and you could only say their life was fair. Did that make life a little fairer or even more unfair?

It started to rain. Water leaked in the veranda, wetting everything.

I hated surprise parties ever since.
