Please tell me what you think of my story, comment, fan, vote! :) Really appreciate it.

I couldn't believe it. Lily liked Taylor. Lily liked Taylor. I knew it. I just knew. If anyone else would have said that to her, she wouldn't have reacted in any way. She would have had a clever comeback, or some kind of response. But she ran away. I think she crying too. That's all I needed. When I finally thought Taylor finally realised I existed, that I was here, too; she had to come and destroy my hopes. Of course, I wasn't hoping he would actually fall in love with me, but I just thought that he just noticed me more.

Well, I guess there was no point hoping for anything anymore. Not that I hoped anything in the first place, but now, I can hope for even less. Because Taylor, like everyone else, preferred Lily.

Oh no! I had a prickly feeling at the back of my eyes. Me, the feelingless, icy, rude, mean, witty Petunia had tears in her eyes. I could not cry. Not in front of Taylor, or anyone else. Alone, I could let myself cry, give myself a moment, but only if I was desperate. I could not let the possibility of crying in front of any one become true.

"What's wrong with her?" Taylor broke the long deafening silence by asking another stupid question.

"... I don't really know. You hurt her feelings somehow." I just told the truth. Well, of course, I didn't tell him that I thought she liked him. Otherwise he would just run to her and propose straight away. Well, any boy would. If someone found out I liked them, they would run away.

"Oh... but how?" He seemed very confused.

"Well... I don't know. I guess... I dunno, maybe I should talk to her about it." I only said that so he wouldn't.

"You would do that for me? Thank you so much." He smiled gratefully. I have no idea why, I mean all I was going to do was talk to her. Huh, she probably means that much for him, he' upset when she is.

"Well... yeah." And I left. I knew where she was. She was in the shed in the garden. Doing whatever witches were supposed to do when they were sad. God, what was I going to say to her?

I hesitated, then opened the creaky wooden door.

 “Hey.” I said awkwardly.

“What do you want?”  She said angrily.

“Nothing… just checking you were… all right.” We didn’t usually talk about these kind of things, but, I mean, we were sisters after all.

“Oh… well, I’m all right.” She seemed startled for a moment.

“It’s just; you seemed pretty upset when you ran away.” I stated the slightly obvious.

“Yeah… Taylor’s always been one of my favourite cousins, and he seemed so angry with me.”

“He wasn’t, I think he was just a little annoyed that you looked at us like we were doing… something we shouldn’t have been doing.”

"I was just  teasing you guys."

"Well, he didn't seem to like it."

"Yeah..."

"Anyways, no point moding around, you might as well just come."

"Mooding around? Does that even make sense?"

"Um... probably not." We both laughed. Yes, we sometimes do get on well.

We went in her room. Taylor was siting on the bed, reading a comic e had probably found on the floor.

"Oh hey. You all right?" He asked Lily.

"Yeah.. it's just, yeah..." She wasn't speechless very often. Taylor had probably hurted her more than she was showing.

"Okie. Anyways, your mum said we all have to go downstairs."

"Why?" I asked him.

"I dunno, she said it was a surprise." Great, I hated surprises, they were so random and unpredictable.

We went downstairs; but no one was there. It was eerily quiet.

I heard a whisper coming from the living room.

"Come on guys, I think they're in there." For some reason, I was whispering too.

We went in the living room as quietly as possible.

And instead of seeing, I dunno, I big cake and people screaming "Surrrprise, Lily! Yay, you're a witch!"; everyone said "Surrrprise, Petunia!". It was only Auntie Emma, Mum and Dad.

But people had noticed me.

They had even planned a surprise party.

For me? They couldn't have mistaken me for Lily, could they?

This was the best thing anyone had done for me. No one had ever planned a birthday party for me. It sounds sad and pathetic, but I don't care. I left the bitter Petunia for a little while, smiled, and said "Thanks guys!"
