Chapter Three- Are You Serious?

Jess' P.O.V

"So. I was thinking.." Taylor said

"Yes?"

"You said school is really hard on you, right?"

"..Yes..?"

"Would you mind if one day, I came to school with you? Like, went with you to each class?"

"Are you serious?"

"Yes.. Is this a bad idea?"

"That would be the best thing ever!" I pounced up and hugged her.

"Ya think?"

"YES! YES! YES!"

This is seriously going to change my life. I don't want her to get hurt or anything though. You never know what people are going to say or do.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked

"Yes! I want to be there for you." She smiled

This is crazy. To think, one day ago, I was in school back in Grand Rapids. Dreaming about being in Nashville, and maybe on day meeting Taylor, and now, shes standing right in front of me. And she's my friend!

"So, when do you go back to school after break?"

"January 3rd." I'm still mentally freaking out, but I gotta act cool

"I'll be there! I'll fly in like, a day before, get a hotel, then we'll pick you up in the morning."

"That sounds amazing!" I smiling so big

"It'll be like a blast from the past!"

"Do you need a bodyguard or something?"

She laughed, "I'll be fine. Unless you live in the ghetto."

"Ha ha ha, no.. Just Grand Rapids."

"Ah.. I have a friend from there!"

"Who?"

"You'll see. We can meet up with him after school someday." She smiled

Taylor's P.O.V

"Well, I have to run, mom and me are meeting up with some family that are in town.." I felt kinda bad

"Oh ok, have fun!" She smiled

"Wait, before I go, do you have a phone?"

"Yeah.. Why?"

"Can I see it?"

"I guesss." She pulled it out of her pocket and handed it to me, I put my number in as 'Best Friend :)' and then handed it back to her.

"Thanks? I think." She laughed.

"See ya!"

I walked away feeling amazing. I'm really glad I could help her, and I'm glad I made a new friend today.

I looked back and I saw her jumping up and down like a little kid, it was so cute. I just smiled.

"That was a real nice thing you did today, Taylor." My Mom said to me

"Thanks. She deserves it."

"Are you sure you really want to go to school again though?"

"Yeah.. I mean, what's the worst thing that could happen?"

I don't understand why my Mom is freaking out. It's not that big of a deal. I'm actually excited, I didn't get to finish my Sophomore year in High School, so it'll be interesting to see what kids are like these days, and to see how they've changed for a couple of years ago.

I was going through all this stuff in my head. What do I wear? Do I bring a notebook? Do I act like a student? Do I just sit there and talk with Jess? I can't worry though. I'm sure it will be just like my Nashville High School.

I'm kind of worried that Jess will still get picked on even if I'm with her, or if it'll be worse since a lot of the kids don't listen to country music.. will I get harassed? I'm kinda worried now that I think everything through.. But I WON'T back out on Jess, that will just give her more of a reason to hate herself, and my goal, is to make her feel better. I'll do whatever it takes.

It was December 30th, and I was performing at 'Dick Clarks Rockin' New Years Eve' in New York, so we had to pack for that.

Then, I'd come back to Nashville for a few days, relax, pack, then I'd head to Michigan. I'm actually more excited then nervous. I get to go through the whole High School life again.

Well, getting up at 5am just to do your hair for that guy that will never notice you, then eating pretty much nothing for breakfast, running out the door, getting to school, talking with friends, then barely making it to class on time before the bell rings. Then it hit me, Jess' life isn't like that. She isn't that lucky..

I don't get why she isn't loved for who she is. But, I'm going there for a reason, to make people love her, and accept her. And I'll keep going day after day if I have to.

It's the least I could do for her.. Right?
