Jess' POV
We went through McDonalds drive through and ordered our lunch. Taylor got a hamburger, fries and a chocolate shake. I got chicken mcnuggets, fries and a coke.
"This looks great!"
"Yeah it does, you know my weakness now."
"are we waiting till we get back to eat?" Taylor asked
"yeah, sounds good."
On the drive back to school was just like the drive to school, singing and talking. It was great finally having a good friend.
"I'm sorry theyve been so mean to you.." I looked down
"it's fine." she said, I could tell she was trying to make me feel better
"no, it's really not!"
"im used to it, Jess."
"But you shouldn't have to be. You're like, the sweetest person ever, it makes sick, literally."
"That's really sweet," she touched my shoulder. "But I'm 22, I can handle these immature 15 and 16 year olds." she smiled
We pulled back into the school parking lot and thanked her driver, then grabbed our food and started heading back in. We found an empty table and sat down.
"I haven't had McDonalds in soo long."
"How do you not eat this?" I said waving a French fry in her face
"I have stay in shape for touring and stuff."
"and will." I smirked
"shut up." she blushed
"haha, don't be embarrassed." I smiled, "you guys look cute together."
"really? Ya think so?" she smiled.
I nodded while taking a sip of my coke.
"too cute. So cute, it's disgusting."
She blushed, "oh, I don't know about that."
She took to fries and put them in her mouth, then took the straw out of her shake, then took off the lid.
"Uh?" I looked at her confused
"just wait." she took another two fries, then dipped them in her chocolate shake, then handed me one.
"try it!"
"alright.. I guess." I examined it first, then ate it.
I chewed it for what seemed like a minute, then swallowed.
"So, whatcha think?"
"really good, actually."
she clapped her hands together, "Told you!"
"yes, you did." I smiled
I could feel people looking at us. I don't know if I'm just crazy, or what, but I feel creeped out.
Taylor's POV
"do you feel like people are staring at us?" I asked Jess
She turned around and skimmed the area.
"Uh, yeah. You're just so enchanting." she smiled
"well thank you," I blushed "but that was just terribly cheesy." I laughed
"Yeah.."
I turned around and there was a girl holding a notebook next to my face with a sharpie. The girl looked familiar..
"Hey Taylor.. Can I have your autograph?"
"Uh," I looked at Jess, She was fuming.
"Get out of here Brianna. You don't even like her, so don't mess with her."
"I was going to sell it on eBay." she snickered
Why can't this girl just leave us alone?
"I think it'd be best if you left." I said to her
"Why? What do you know?"
"well, I'm 22. That's.. What? 6 years older than you? Ive sure been through a lot more than you, and honestly, your act is quite pathetic."
Her eyes widened.
"Act?! What act?"
"to be cool. Id love to hear the story on what Jess did to you to make you hate her so much." I rested my head on my hand like I was intently listening.
"I don't have time for this."
"Awee. And why's that?"
"I don't have to tell YOU."
I just laughed, "ok, just stop being mean to Jess."
"you cant tell me what to do."
I just ignored her.
"Hey Jess, pass the ketchup?"
"My pleasure." she smiled and passed me a small packet.
"not so tough, are you swift?" Brianna said getting in my face.
"oh, I'm sorry, are you still standing there?"
I smirked then both Jess and I laughed. The whole cafeteria said "Ooohhh." as she walked away. It was hilarious! I gave Jess a high five.
"So, for the talent show.." Jess said randomly, but I was glad she brought it up and I didn't, so I knew she wanted to talk about it.
"Yes?" I smiled
"I know Brianna will be there, so we should sing 'Fifteen'." she smiled
"Do you think she'll want to be friends afterward?"
"Maybe. But I won't really care. I got one good friend," she smiled and pointed at me with a French fry. Haha this girl, "and that's all I really need."
"awe!" I smiled, then the bell rang.
"looks like lunch is over.." she frowned
"why are you frowning? What's next?"
"geometry.."
"oh God, math was never my thing."
"tell me about it."
We got up, pushed in our chairs, then threw away our trash. I hope I can help jess through math, or maybe she'll help teach me.. You never know, today's been pretty unpredictable.
