*Btw If you didn't know, the Anderson family is Jessie, Sam, Ron, and Pete.
(Y/N) P.O.V.
The group stood in front of a metal gate. On the inside was a safe community named Alexandria, or at least that's what Aaron said. You squeezed Carl's hand to try to calm yourself down. You didn't know how you could possibly be nervous, it's just a brand new place with loads of people you don't know or trust. On second thought, you had every right to be afraid.
Carl held your hand tightly and gave you a reassuring look. The gates slowly creaked open as the community was revealed. Aaron was right. Kids played in the streets, adults chatted on their front porch. It was almost just like before, although things would never be the same. You'd experienced too much for a 15 year old. Down the street you heard laughing from what sounded like two boys. You looked to your left and about a block away you noticed two dirty blonde boys running across the street laughing. Out of all the other kids in this place, they stuck out the most. Maybe you knew them before? Then a bleach blonde woman jogged up behind them. "Ron, Sam, wait up," she laughed. Ron? Sam? Your two brothers. The blonde woman was your mother, Jessie. Your hand slipped from Carl's and you started running.
"Mom!" You yelled in a dead sprint. Her head snapped in your direction. It took her about a millisecond to recognize her daughter, even though it had been at least two years since you last saw your family.
"(Y/N)!" Your mom and brothers yelled in unison. The three of them broke out into a sprint, your mother catching you in her arms first. You gladly accepted her embrace and your brothers joined the hug.
"Oh my god (Y/N) we were all convinced you were gone," your mom mumbled in your shoulder. Everyone was pretty much bawling by now. Eventually everyone pulled away and wiped their tears. You were surprised to see your older brother Ron crying, he was tough as nails last time you saw him.
"Dad's at home if you want to see him," Sam suggested. The thought of your dad made you cringe. All of the years of abuse wasn't something you'd ever forget.
"Ok," you whispered looking at the ground.
"Hey," your mom rested her hand on your shoulder, "you don't have to see him yet if you don't want to." Your mom was the only person who you had gone into detail about the beatings with. She understood because she experienced it too. You'd sit alone, hold each other and cry.
"I'm guessing you know these people?" the all-too-familiar voice chimed in your ear. Carl stood behind you with a smile on his face.
"Mom, guys, this is Carl. Carl this is Ron, Sam, and my mom Jessie," you said as you introduced Carl, "He's the reason why I'm still here."
"Well I wouldn't say that," he said as he rubbed his hand along the back of his neck. So modest, you laughed to yourself.
"Well I would. Carl saved my ass countless times," you informed your family.
"It's nice to meet you. Thank you so much for keeping my daughter alive. We've been looking since we lost her," your mom extended her hand for Carl to shake. He gladly took it and nodded his head.
"It was most certainly my pleasure," he smiled toward you.
"Yea, nice to meet you too. I missed my baby sister. You wanna come over and play video games?" Ron offered.
"Video games?! Hell yeah!" Both of the boys ran off in the direction in which you guessed was your new house. You and your mom smiled at each other as you, and Sam, headed in that direction. It was nice to know that you had your family back, and that Carl made a new friend. Now it was time to face your father...
(A/N) Aye walkers. Here's a new update like I promised. I got a new computer so it will be ten times easier to write new updates. Should I make a part two of this were the character sees Pete again? Let me know. Thanks for reading and I'll see ya soon with a new update.
