A year ago today I felt the silent touch of death underneath my thumb,
I lost something there that day,
I lost someone there that day. It's alright,
I'll remember.
I'll remember every 3rd of every month
the heart that stopped beating underneath that thumb,
And I'll thank you for what you gave me.I'll wake everyday and outside see those, like you,
I'll walk outside ever day and see those who move, like you,
I'll pass each and every tree every day, the ones who would hold and house someone, like you.
But no one will ever be quite. like. you.I took your name to be my own so I would never forget,
I took to those grown and growing in the earth to feel closer,
I took and still keep the patch that belonged to you to remind you that you are loved,
Just like I held you that day.I'll think of you,
Even when September ends.
I'll sing of you,
Till I can write no more.
I'll hold your memory to me,
Just like I held you that day.It doesn't matter who we are.
Every life should be equal,
no matter how small.
It doesn't matter,
If I'm the only one who will remember you.
What does matter is we both belong to this world
and are deserving of someone who gives us hopes,
someone who gives us love, someone to bring us dreams,
someone like those around us to make us feel equal,
like I did for you, and you for me on that day.September 3rd, 2015,
The day I held you near and sung of you in my heart,
The day I felt the silent touch of death underneath my right thumb,
The day I stopped everything I was doing to love only one,
And it was you Cie.
It was you.I'll always continue to wonder if you're ok.
Because trying as hard as I might on that day,
I know you still find your hope in me.It is still my honor to know you.
People are people, even if you are a squirrel,I love you.
Please be safe.
