5pm
A phone call,
It's you, I answer.
We talk.
We dim down.
We say "I love you."
7pm
Walking.
Walking.
Running.
Walking.
8:12pm
A bus.
I get on.
First stop.
Fifth stop.
The train.
8:40pm
A text message,
It's you, I reply.
"I'm safe."
9:25pm
Tunnel,
Click clack click clack click clack,
And then the brake pads screech to a halt.
No signal.
9:55pm
A phone call,
Its me.
You pick up.
"I'm at work now."
That's what I say.
10pm
Check in,
Stocking. 12am
Stocking. 1am
Resetting. 2am
Sticking. 4am
Stocking. 4:15am
6am
Check out.
7:20am
I call,
I wait,
I call again,
You answer, and for a moment,
Just a moment...
The world lights up with the sunrise,
Then dims when I arrive home
To fall asleep.
I grind a boss battle called work,
I lose hp,
Drink potions,
Expend mana to nature,
Then,
I gain enough exp to clock out,
I level up,
Gain gold,
And,
I do it again.
5pm
A phone call,
It's you, I answer.
Because if I don't,
We both lose this game.
And I'll do it each day.
