Another Home

Another home I've not
Walked into come 9 years ago,
A hearth I know well, but
Have lived not since.

Here, when it rains,
On my side of town it touches everything,
Everything locked away from times when all I am is fractured,
More petrified than bone.

In the static I see,
I meet you,
I greet you old friend,
And I know you well again,
Like I never left.

Every corner,
Each turn,
Every road,
I have roamed,
I have roamed far across your reaches
Even not where the light touches,
And I call you mine.

Being here,
Home, in you,
That I've found in you,
Things change so much
I'm but a misguided ghost.

I'm lost in you.
Knowing I can no longer sense the forces of those who knew me,
Those I loved,
Those I called friend.
And they,
They that held me,
They I call sisters.

Here in you,
I knew great joy.
Here in you,
I knew beauty.
Here in you..
I also knew pain.
Because while away from here,
They grew without me.
They rose without me.
And I will never know where they grow and go now,

But in my mind,
If I even fade from view of them and you,
I can say everyone and thing
Will not fade,
Not even if I wanted to,
Or tried to make them.

To the county I called home,

Thank you,
For giving me sights and friends to long for.
And if I never return,
Take care of them for me.

Even if my look changes and my face is not remembered...

Until the wind blows me to you again,
My other home.
