A/N: hello my friends, I'm sorry for not updating me in a while and this is pretty late. Sorry about that. A pic of Delia on the side.

November 30th, 2017

Today was thanksgiving, my second favorite holiday of the year because (1) this signifies that Christmas time is almost upon us and (2) I just love food. This Thanksgiving is a little different from last years or at least most definitely the one I last wrote in my journal which had Ariel calling everyone out when I was still in the closet….ah, those were the days. Anyway, for the holidays the Hendersons and the NightLocks usually spend their time together. This has been going on for what feels like forever. Ever since the breakup we haven’t seen too much of each other. I mean, I would occasionally see Mr. Alex with my mom while she was watching my sister or Mr. Danny and my dad being neighborly but besides that I haven’t seen much. To be honest I haven’t set foot in that house since Ariel left. It was some sort of hazard zone but I’ve been yearning to go back. Back to how everything was because I missed them. They were my family away from my family. I actually spent more time there than in my own home. Most nights I would sleep in Demetrius’ bed but then if my mom wanted to see my face then he’d come over and we’d be in my bed. For the past six months it’s been one cold space until Finny moved in. Anyway, my mom came into my room this morning…

-

I felt the light from the window seep through into my closed eyes. I could fee Finn shifting beside me to probably see what the hell was disturbing our slumber. “Rise and shine, sleepy heads!” the sound of mom’s annoying and somewhat sweet voice said, pulling the sheets from our legs. “You have to get up and get dressed. Thanksgiving is today and we’re going over Alexander and Daniel’s house today.  Formal optional.”

I sighed trying to open my eyes but the crust was keeping them together. Finn sprawled out on the bed like a cat like he does whenever he wakes up. He slid his body over top of mine to grab my phone and see the time. “It’s 3 o’clock. She let us sleep late.” He put the phone back and patted my chest before jumping off the bed. He seemed like he was in a good mood today which was wonderful. Now that I have time to reevaluate my life he has been good since the Halloween party. I guess a nice environment helped him. I finally opened my eyes. My room looked a hot mess. I hadn’t had time to clean it and everyday it bothered me seeing it. A combination of Finn’s stuff and my stuff was in here. We hadn’t decided whose clothes would go wear or some other minor details so we put some things in the guest room and others in here. Even though somehow some items would travel back here mysteriously.  “Isn’t it going to be awkward?”

I yawned and started to stretch. “What’s going to be awkward?”

“You and Demetrius sitting at the same dinner table. More than likely sitting close by because the whole family is convinced that you and Demetrius belong together.”

I rolled my tired eyes. “It’s only awkward if you make it awkward and I don’t intend to do that. Now get in the shower first and don’t use all the hot water this time.”

He laughed, walking away. “I can’t make any promises.”

My phone started to ring and I picked it up seeing the caller id. Ace.

-

Now I hadn’t dwelled on the fact of “Riley Cooper” and my Ace being best friends but ever since his arrival Ace has been occupied and busy. The only times I’ve seen him were at the internship. But there we had to act professional. The honest to go truth was that I missed him. He had gone to Washington for thanksgiving to visit his parents.

-

“Hey, Ace.”

“Hey, babe.  I just wanted to call and tell you that I made into Washington safely. Are you just waking up because you have that sexy groggy tone in your voice? It makes me aroused just hearing it.”
