Everything else came easily. He had no trouble getting rid of the other authority figures. He killed Commissioner Gordon and Barbara Gordon in cold blood. He pulled the trigger himself.

He had Mayor Quincy Sharp put into Arkham City, also no problem, he just had to expose his blackmail to the press, and the rest was history.

Edward had his informants roaming the streets, killing any other henchmen of the Joker or the disgusting Penguin.

At last, it was all over. Edward Nygma, The Riddler, had reign over everyone!

Everyone who had teased him, rejected him, would pay. And if they were in Gotham City, they would. If Kristen Kringle were alive, she would swoon when Edward passed. Things finally started to go his way. And it all started with the death of the bat.

He had finally proven it:

Edward Nygma proved he was the best. He proved that he was the smartest.

But then again, he knew it all along.

He watched Bruce Wayne's funeral silently. Both his and Alfred Pennyworth's. They were both buried next to the graves of Thomas and Martha Wayne. No one was there at the funeral.

Edward never realized how Bruce Wayne had no one in his life. The undertaker simply placed the coffins in their places and covered them.

Edward was simply there to make sure that he was dead and there was no way he wasn't.

It was impossible.
