ROSE'S POV

This chapter is a little longer than the previous two. Hope you enjoy! Don't forget to watch the video on the side! It is very important and goes along with the plot. When you read this chapter, act as if the event that happens in the video actually happened, even though it's just a deleted scene. :(

"So, where exactly are we going?" the Doctor asked me. That was the one thing I was still getting used to; the Doctor taking orders from me. Never in a million years did I imagine that something like this would ever happen to me, but hey, who knows what can happen? There's whole other planets out there in the universe, just waiting to be explored.

"Well," I paused, stopping to catch my breath. Traveling does take a lot out of a person. "I was hoping to take us somewhere we've never been before. Somewhere... special." I finished.

"Hold on, how is this place we're going 'special' if we've never even been there?" the Doctor asked curiously. I thought of the best possible way to answer his question without giving it away. After coming up with nothing, I said, "You'll see soon enough."

Walking into the newly grown TARDIS was a lot more emotional than I thought it would be. Everything seemed to flood in on me at once; the memories of our journeys, the almost-regeneration of the Doctor in this very room. Luckily, I was able to hold back these thoughts for the time being and get on with my "mission".

"Ok, let's see," I muttered to myself, trying to remember the exact combination the Doctor used to "start" the TARDIS. After I hit the right keys, the time machine gave a small shake before taking us off to somewhere I had always wondered about.

"Hang on!" I yelled to the Doctor, though I was a bit too late; he had already settled in a position on the floor, a place I had occupied many many times. "Who put you in charge?" he shouted back, as he jumped to his feet. My only response was a smile, and soon enough, we had landed.

After stepping outside the TARDIS, I stood in awe as I took in my surroundings. The Doctor had spoken of this planet, but it wasn't until then that I realized how beautiful it actually was. Mountains rose beside us, stretching tall to reach the sun; small streams and rivers ran down its stomach. A grove of trees at the edge of the mountain seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. Was it just my imagination or were those leaves made of sparkles? They were! It was so breathtaking, if only there weren't the occupants that lived here: the dogs with no noses.

"This is Barcelona, isn't it?" the Doctor exclaimed, surprised and shocked about our location. "Yeah, what's wrong?" I asked, hoping I hadn't made a mistake in bringing us here. Was there some sort of the past I didn't know about? "Nothing," he replied shortly. "It's just that... the species that lives here isn't very fond of humans." "Who, the ferocious, no-smelling dogs?" I joked, before whispering, "Let's explore!" and gestured to the Doctor as I alternated between running and skipping through the lucious field of grass.

In between "investigating" interesting life forms and being scolded by the Doctor, I hardly had time to breathe. Nevertheless, it was loads of fun. Just to be anywhere with the coolest alien in the galaxy was enough for me; well, mostly. Anyway, we didn't stay there long, due to the fact that we had creepy, noseless dogs running after us. Barcelona evidently wasn't as fun a place to explore as we thought it would be.

"Tell me, who's idea was it to travel to a place full of no-nosed dogs?" the Doctor wondered aloud as we sprinted in different directions to escape the raving dogs. "You were the one who suggested it in the first place, remember?" I yelled back, my words incoherent from my lack of breath. "Right after you changed into who you are now- you know what I mean. What's it called?"

"Are you referring to regeneration?" he asked in confirmation to my question. "Yeah, that's it!" I said, closing the doors of the TARDIS as we ran into it, away from the mouths of rabid animals. Too bad we couldn't have stayed there longer; the scenery really was beautiful.

Once more, I pulled and pushed several levers in their specific order, sending the blue box spinning through space. The Doctor had caught on by now and was hanging on to the chair off to the side of the console. Speeding off to our next destination, I hoped it would be a lot better than where we were only moments before.

As soon as the TARDIS landed, I ran to its foots and flung them wide, allowing the Doctor to discover our new exterior. "Barcelona, again?" he noted. I made a sound similar to that of a winning bell from a game show. "Correct!" I said in a robotic voice. "Now, let's run!"

First, we visited the most popular tourist attraction in the city (via metro): La Sagrada Familia Church. Apparently, we learned from the tour guide, the cathedral was designed and partly built by Antoni Gaudi, who spent more than forty years working on the building, only to die in a tragic bus accident not long after. Wow, what a life, I thought. At least his masterpiece lived on.

Next, we decided to visit Tibidabo Hill while we still had some energy. Riding the bus to get to there, we walked the rest of the way up, visiting the amusement park and the tiny church at the top. Oh, you should've seen the look on the Doctor's face! It was a bit weird; I thought he would groan and complain about how "silly little human things" aren't worth his time.

His human side is really helpful in situations like this. I've noticed he's not as strict as usual; more carefree and relaxed, but still alert and on the lookout. I think I'm really gonna love this side of the Doctor more than I thought I would.

We stopped at Casa Mila (nicknamed La Pedrera) for lunch and a coffee on the first floor. Admiring the scenery surrounding us, we talked for a bit about how this "vacation" was so far. The Doctor seemed to really be enjoying it; I'm glad.

Our bellies full, we made our way over to the Picasso Museum. "Did you know that Picasso lived here in Barcelona for most of his life?" the Doctor quizzed me after our tour guide passed out informational pamphlets about the painter. I faked a gasp of surprise. "Why, no Doctor, I didn't!" We laughed together, only to be shushed by the guide and other tourists.

Lastly, we found our way to the Magic Fountain, a centerpiece known for its spectacular light shows. I watched on in amazement at the exploding colors that mixed so wonderfully together. Just like me and the Doctor, I thought, but didn't dare say out loud. There were some things that you always kept to yourself, no matter what.

After saying goodbye to the beautiful city, we hopped into the TARDIS. This time the Doctor took charge; he must've felt confident enough by now to pilot his own time machine. "Now it's time for me to take you somewhere!" he shouted over the roar of the TARDIS in motion.

"Where are we going? I asked, hoping to carefully pry the answer out of his mouth. Silence was my only response. It didn't stick around for long, however. As soon as I opened the doors of the TARDIS for the third time today, I knew exactly where we were.

"No, it can't be!" I exclaimed, wondering how it could be. After stopping to think, I asked the Doctor, "Is it really?" Turning to see my reaction, he nodded. Time seemed to pause; no one knew what was going to happen next, until the Doctor broke out into a wide grin. His smile stretched from cheek to cheek, radiant as the sun. There was no way to measure his excitement, as well as mine.
