Victoria manages to get a small amount of sleep, but not enough. Today is Sunday so she doesn't have to worry about work or school and decides to go back to sleep. It's pretty hard to do so when the sun is shining through the cracked roof of the house and the wind is blowing fiercely through the gaping holes. Eventually, she gives up and stands up to stretch.
She ponders over the events of last night, now fully awake and able to comprehend everything from a better point of view. "What did Avistus mean it wasn't him!? Nobody can simply clone themselves they way this guy did. What's going on here?!" She remembers the book she is suppose to read and explain for Schon and opens it in the hopes that she may find some answers.
She spends the entire day reading through the book and manages to get about half way through, jotting down the parts that could be metaphorical. She stops only once to eat, since she's not feeling really hungry today and continues to pour through the ancient text. She decides to read one last page before putting the book away and getting some sleep.
However, upon reading a few sentences she realizes that this book has an answer for her.
The Blood Moon: Once every twenty years when the star Polaris aligns with the moon at the same time as the sun, a potential witch is born. The blood moon marks her coming of age when she will gain her powers. The witch is not the biggest concern though. The veil between our world and the spiritual world thins so that the witch may receive his or her supernatural gifts. When the veil thins and the witch starts receiving a power or two, however minute they may be, other supernatural beings detect this and desperately fight their way to the entrance. The entrance is not easy to find, but those of higher powers can find it easily enough. Vampires, Higher Demons, Incubi, Succubi, werewolves and even angels can find their way into our world. Even though the veil separates the dead from the living, it also separates all the other plains of existence from one another. So the creatures that come through may or may not be deceased.
Victoria's eyes widen as she reads the passage. Normally, she would scoff at this sort of thing but recent events have left her with no other choice but to wonder. That would explain the speed at which the assaulter from her trailer moved. Victoria decides to research the traits of the creatures she has read about. However, her only access to a computer is at her mother's.
She bucks up and gets moving, determined to find some answers. She is still highly doubtful in her mind about the existence of these creatures, but she has to research anyway because she promised Schon she would. Not to mention that she is desperate for the money. She makes her way home and to her surprise, everything seems to be okay between her and her mother.
Victoria grabs the lap top and heads straight to her room without even so much as a greeting to her estranged mother. As she pours the internet for answers about these creatures, she gets the same response she expected. So instead she tried to find animals that could be compared to such beings and comes up empty handed. "There just is no way this could be metaphorical, it has to be literal." She writes down her findings as fast as possible and continues searching.
She looks up witches and to her surprise, there are a lot of people who follow this spiritual path. However, none are like what she is researching. None of them seem to have the powers this book talks of. Maybe one or two traits that with practice any human could have, but nowhere near what this book is saying. "People were very suspicious in the old world, maybe this is all just their imagining. It has to be right?"
Then, she tries convincing herself that this is all just rubbish and continues jotting down her notes for Schon. She thinks of how ridiculous it all is and chuckles at herself almost embarrassed for believing it for even a fraction of a second. "Seriously, if this were true do you know how many witches would be on this Earth?"
