Carrie's POV
----------------------------------
Beep! Beep! Beep!
I groan at the horrid noise before slamming my hand down on the alarm clock. Let's just say I'm not a morning person. I rolled out of bed, standing on my feet and walked to my ensuite.
Taking in my unruly mass of curly hair I groan again. "It's a freaking bird nest!" I mumble as I find my hairbrush and brush the tangles out. I decide it might be a good idea to shower considering I didn't have one last night.
After showering and getting into the horrible uniform, I venture down the stairs to see my mum cooking chocolate chip pancakes, my favourite. "I figured you would be wanting a good breakfast to start the day," she smiled.
"This is one of the many reasons I love you!" I laugh and steal a few of the pancakes from the plate. "These are freaking perfect!" My mum only laughs.
After breakfast I start walking to school. Once there I notice that there's a new piece of gossip going around. I walk up to the very few friends I have - Jessamyn Brooks and Natalie Fields.
"He's coming back," Natalie answers my silent question.
"Which he?" I ask. I had to ask since my bully, Jason Thomas, went to juvie and is supposed to be back very soon which is rather unfortunate for me.
"Mason Woods," Jessamyn murmurs, a little scared. You see he was sort of her bully when he left. He never bullied Natalie for some reason, and well he never bullied me but I never saw him so that was probably why.
"Jess, it'll be fine. He's probably forgotten about you by now. I mean c'mon he just got back from juvie! Is the first thing he does when he gets back here really going to be bullying you? It'll probably be shacking up with one of the sluts here!" I reassure her, not expecting anyone to hear except the three of us.
"Well babe you would be right," a male voice chuckles in my ear. I blink in slight fear while my two friends cower back.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to be heard or to insult you," I stutter slightly.
"All will be forgiven if you give me your name," he chuckles.
"Carrie Mellows," I answer softly.
"Thank you Carrie," he chuckles before his presence disappears.
"I'm so fucked," I mumble.

Mason's POV
----------------------------------------------
I admit I'm glad to be back at school, of course only to wreak havoc but still it does feel good to be back. I felt the stares from girls as I stroll through the hallway. I take in the appearance of three girls. One seems to be frightened and looks like the girl I used to bully. Another looks worried for her friend while the final girl appears to be preparing herself a lot of talking.
I step closer so I'm in hearing range and listen. "Jess, it'll be fine. He's probably forgotten about you by now. I mean c'mon he just got back from juvie! Is the first thing he does when he gets back here really going to be bullying you? It'll probably be shacking up with one of the sluts here!" the girl says and I'm wondering why I've never seen her before.
I walk closer so I'm exactly behind her and whisper in her ear, "Well babe you would be right."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to be heard or to insult you," she stutters slightly. I want to laugh. If this girl knows to apologise, she should know that what she said was true so I'm still wondering who the hell this girl is.
"All will be forgiven if you give me your name," I chuckle. She seems apprehensive to give me her name but tells me anyway.
"Carrie Mellows," she answers softly. I definitely haven't ever heard if her before.
"Thank you Carrie," I chuckle before walking away, slightly puzzled on who this girl is.
"I'm so fucked," I manage to hear her say and I hold back a laugh. Still pondering I come up with a plan to ask around to see if anyone has any information on this girl who happens to have caught my interest.
After asking around and getting a few weird looks from asking about her, I manage to find out Carrie is in my grade, she is a nerd and an outcast, the only friends she has are the two she was with this morning, and she's been at this school for the four years I've been here. It isn't much but I intend to find out more and I'm still slightly curious on how I've never seen her before.

"Hey man. I found out some interesting news about that girl," Jesse says as I walk up to him.
"You have. Tell me now!" I demand and he chuckles.
"Well you remember Jason?" he asks and I growl at the mention of that asshole's name. "Ok clearly you do. Well he happens to be that Carrie girl's bully." I blink repeatedly as I process this new piece of information.
"That asshole is going down when he gets back," I growl. Jesse's eyes widen in surprise and his brow furrows in confusion.
"Man why are you acting like this? I thought our motto was 'hump and dump'? Have you taken an interest in this one girl?" he asks.
"I'm not even sure myself man," I sigh. This afternoon or whenever I next see her I'm going to talk to her.

Carrie's POV
----------------------------------------------
After the encounter with Mason I had gotten a few weird looks from anyone I passed in the halls. Hell even my best friends looked at me a bit weird! Unfortunately I happened to have two classes with him. English and HPE. Although luckily for me and my heart, I had the courage to run out each class before he even got out of his seat.
I exit out of the school and begin to walk home when I hear a motorcycle stop next to me. I turn to the side and see Mason. "Shit," I mumble.
"Hello Carrie," he greets.
"What do you want?" I ask shakily.
"Jeez can't a guy talk to a girl these days!" he exclaims.
"Yes they can if both want to talk," I answer, my voice still a bit shaky.
"Well all I wanted to ask you about was Jason and if you wanted a ride home," he sighs and I suddenly feel like I'm concreted to the ground.
"What?" I ask, a little dumbfounded.
"You heard me," he answers rudely.
"I don't want to talk about Jason and no thank you for the ride," I say. I feel a few tears welling up in my eyes and I clench my eyes shut so the tears won't spill.
"Is it a touchy subject?" he asks a little worried? Am I hearing correctly? I open my eyes to see a worried expression on Mason's face. "Oh shit don't cry. I'm sorry for bringing it up."
"I'm crying?" I ask.
"Unless your face is leaking then yes you are," he chuckles and goes to wipe the tears away but stops himself. "You sure you didn't want that ride? I don't mind."
"Um I don't know," I stutter, looking at the bike.
"You scared of my bike?" he chuckles and I nod. "It's fine. I promise you won't die."
I surprise myself by saying, "Alright a ride home would be great."
